Get ready for a photo-heavy post. I just found the YSL makeup I’ve been trying out from FragranceNet.com so lovely there were a few more photos than normal. I pulled together three pieces: Yves Saint Laurent Concealer Beige Ivoire #01*, Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Kiss & Blush Rose Libre #03* and Yves Saint Laurent Couture Palette Love #09* to create a natural rosy tone makeup look for this post.
There’s the sneak peak, now let’s get into the products I used!
I’ve already shared a review of Prada Candy as well as some adorable mini fragrances from FragranceNet.com, but the website also sells high end makeup for a discounted price. Some of the products are ones you can no longer find at Sephora, but there are also also plenty of permanent ones. Yves Saint Laurent is just one of the many makeup brands available from FragranceNet.com but of course the luxurious gold packaging caught my eye! You can check out the available YSL products here.
Packaged in the classic YSL gold, the Yves Saint Laurent Concealer in Beige Ivoire #01 is a creamy concealer meant to cover dark circles and achieve a flawless finish. It comes in a small tube that is perfect for carrying with you for any touch ups throughout the day, or concealer emergencies (I’ve definitely had those before!)
The Yves Saint Laurent Anti-Cernes Concealer is available in the shades, Ivory Beige (#01), Nude Beige (#02) and Pink Beige (#03). The shade Beige Ivoire/Ivory Beige is a fair with yellow undertones and the perfect match for brightening my under eye area. I’m about a NC15 right now for reference. My only concern is that it’s so creamy and lovely to use, I think I’ll go through the 0.07 oz tube quite quickly (the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer contains 0.23 oz for comparison) but as long as it it lasts, it is quite lovely!
Although you can also use the Yves Saint Laurent Concealer in Ivory Beige as a spot concealer, my favourite place to use it is under the eyes. You can definitely see how well it corrects the darkness in my before/after comparison. The fact that it’s super creamy means it really just glides on which is perfect for the delicate eye area. The slanted edge makes it easy to apply from the tube and then I massage in with my fingers.
One of the YSL products I’ve had my eye on the longest are their lip and cheek hybrids, the Baby Doll Kiss & Blush. I’ve swatched these in store and fallen in love with how lovely they are, so I was thrilled to test out the Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Kiss & Blush in Rose Libre #03.
The Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Kiss & Blush comes in a glass bottle similar to a nail polish bottle with a gold handle. Inside, the product has a doe foot applicator and a delicious sweet fruity scent that I do not notice once applied. The shade in Rose Libre is a gorgeous rose pink which has a gel-like consistency that dries down to a powder-like finish.
I applied the Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Kiss & Blush in Rose Libre #03 to the lips as well as cheeks for this makeup look, but I definitely prefer it on the cheeks. The slightly powdery finish is more flattering there, and I also find it lasts all day on my cheeks is very impressive. However, you can still get away with using it on your lips as well.
The final piece I needed for a YSL Rosy Tones Makeup Look was of course some rosy eyeshadows, and the Yves Saint Laurent Couture Palette in Love #09 is a perfect match. This palette comes with 5 shades in a gold compact with a mirror on the lid and two applicators which I did not use. It’s a gorgeous mix of colours that’s a little unusual compared to my usual neutrals but still quite wearable, especially for brown eyes.
The Yves Saint Laurent Couture Palette in Love includes a shimmery peach, a frosty pale pink with a hint of lilac, a pinkish plum with a satin finish, a reddish pink with a satin finish and a hint of sparkle, and a pale shimmery gold. There could probably be another middle shade instead of three light shimmery ones, but they are so gorgeous it’s hard to complain! All shades have a stunning, pigmented formula that may kick up a little powder with your brush but I did not find they had fall out once applied.
For my YSL Rosy Tones Makeup Look, I used the upper left peachy shade from the Yves Saint Laurent Couture Palette in Love on my inner corner. I applied the pink shade all over the lid, and used the plum in the crease. The shades blended out perfectly without sheering out and I added lots of mascara to my lashes as the final touch.
In the above makeup look I’m wearing the Yves Saint Laurent Concealer Beige Ivoire #01 under my eyes as well as on my blemishes, the Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Kiss & Blush Rose Libre #03 on my cheeks and lips and Yves Saint Laurent Couture Palette Love #09 on my eyes. I actually also added the bottom right shimmery gold shade from the eyeshadow palette as a cheek highlight. This look is all about multitasking makeup and rosy tones!
Not only do I recommend all the lovely YSL makeup I tried out for this look, but I definitely recommend checking out FragranceNet.com as well. They have a huge selection of fragrance and makeup including some stunning Giorgio Armani I may have my eye on next…
