If there’s one beauty issue that sums up winter, it’s dry skin. There’s the Dr. Teal’s Pure Epsom Salt Body Lotion*, Avon Planet Spa Blissfully Nourishing With African Shea Butter Hand, Elbow and Foot Cream*, Marcelle Ultra Gentle Moisturizing Cream* and Mary Kay Mint Bliss Energizing Lotion for Feet & Legs*. Keep reading to find out my thoughts on all of them.

For a lotion that’s both relaxing and incredibly moisturizing to use, I highly recommend the Dr. Teal’s Pure Epsom Salt Body Lotion. I like that it comes in a tube, since that’s more hygienic. This thick lotion has a eucalyptus and spearmint scent that’s really soothing and almost therapeutic. It’s also enriched with Shea butter and vitamin E which is very nourishing on the skin. The Dr. Teal’s Pure Epsom Salt Body Lotion still manages to absorb in well and leaves my skin extra soft and moisturized–this lotion is definitely a winter skin saviour!

Another skin saviour with a lot of moisture and a delicious scent is the Avon Planet Spa Blissfully Nourishing With African Shea Butter Hand, Elbow and Foot Cream. This lotion has a very sweet scent that’s a mix of macadamia nut, vanilla and sweet brown sugar. When applied to the skin I almost feel like it leaves a protective layer behind, making it great on dry patches of skin like elbows but not something I’d use all over my body.

Marcelle Ultra Gentle Moisturizing Cream 2 Marcelle Ultra Gentle Moisturizing Cream

The Marcelle Ultra Gentle Moisturizing Cream is described as an ultra gentle cream meant to instantly hydrate and soothe sensitive skin. However,  it has a slightly runny consistency that I would definitely call a lotion and not cream. Still, it absorbs easily into the skin and feels very lightweight and not at all greasy. It’s also made without parabens, perfumes, and oils as well as being hypo-allergenic. After using the Marcelle Ultra Gentle Moisturizing Cream I think that while it is a great choice for sensitive skin, it’s not intensive enough for me on its own during dry winter weather.

Mary Kay Mint Bliss Energizing Lotion for Feet & Legs Mary Kay Mint Bliss Energizing Lotion for Feet & Legs 2

The Mary Kay Mint Bliss Energizing Lotion for Feet & Legs is a minty cooling gel that absorbs quickly into the skin and feels super refreshing when applied. Although I wouldn’t use this product for intense moisture, it feels really great after a long day. Even better, right now every purchase comes with a free pair of fuzzy socks!
