Vamp It Up FOTD with Sarah

Well, if everything is going according to plan (Hopefully!) I should be finishing up Machu Picchu and heading off for a couple days in the Amazon! Luckily there are some wonderful ladies helping to keep my blog occupied while I’m away, including one of my long-time blog friends Sarah from Workaday Ramblings with a gorgeous gold and burgundy makeup look way outside my own comfort zone!

Hello, I’m Sarah from Workaday Ramblings. While Zoe is off galavanting around Peru, I thought I’d sneak some colour onto her blog.

I really like experimenting with colour, and have recently playing with dark lipstick. I’m not entirely comfortable with wearing it all the time yet as I feel it makes more of a statement than say bright green eyeshadow, which I have no worries about, but it’s fun to play around with.

Vampy goth FOTDStarting with the obvious, my lipstick is Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color in Vamp It Up. It is super opaque and comfortable. I’m wearing only one swipe on my lips. It lasts quite a while, and stained my lips a rather bright pink colour.

Vampy goth eyesFor my eyes, I decided to go with a subdued look in antique gold, which seemed to match the vampire feel the lipstick inspired. I started with a coat of Essence Stays No Matter What Jumbo Eye Pencil & Shadows in Whipped White Frosting, which is my favourite base. I topped it with a layer of gold shadow from the Quo Urban Legends eyeshadow palette. I tried a very thin line of Quo Eyeliner in black and then finished with several coats of Urban Decay Perversion mascara.

Vampy goth productsOverall, I really like the end look, even though the lipstick slightly scares me. I was surprised at how wearable it was though. Any bets on whether it’s possible to get Zoe to try it when she gets back from her trip?
