So I obviously loved the new Urban Decay eyeshadows, but you know what I love just as much? Their incredible new blushes! Finally available as standalone products, I have the shades Bang* and Rapture* in the new Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Blush formula.
The packaging for the Urban Decay Bang and Rapture Afterglow 8-Hour Blush has the edgy vibe to it that is expected from the brand. The blushes are housed in a steel metal grey compact with a fishnet design on the back of the lid and a cutout for the letters UD. You can slightly see the shade of the product underneath, although it’s far more obvious with the bright Bang on the left. There’s also a magnetic closure–my favourite!
The Urban Decay Bang Afterglow 8-Hour Blush is an incredibly bright reddish orange that is nearly neon. It is intensely pigmented, so a light hand (or duofibre brush) is cautioned, especially for fairer skin. However I really love that Urban Decay has included shades that can actually work on darker skin tones too, because I think this would be gorgeous. The formula is soft, blendable and buildable.
The Urban Decay Bang Afterglow 8-Hour Blush has a semi-matte finish that blends into the skin almost like a satin, giving a subtle glow to the cheeks (in addition to the bright glow from the blush itself!) It is also quite long-lasting and easily meets the 8 hour claim in its name. I was definitely a bit scared of this shade, but it is happily remaining in my collection because I ended up loving it.
For another stunning shade more within my comfort zone, there’s the Urban Decay Rapture Afterglow 8-Hour Blush. This a mauve with a hidden shimmer to it that helps provide a luminous finish on the skin but never looks sparkly. Like Bang, the formula is finely milled and easy to blend. Although it is buildable, the shade never gets dark and I think this is a great plum option for fair skin.
The Urban Decay Rapture Afterglow 8-Hour Blush is pretty much my perfect blush and it also managed to meet the 8 hour wear claim with no issues. If you’re interested in learning more about the eyeshadows I’m wearing in both these looks, make sure to check out my reviews of the Urban Decay Beware, Dive Bar, Fireball and Lounge Eyeshadows. Lip colour reviews coming soon!
Both Urban Decay Bang and Rapture Afterglow 8-Hour Blushes have a fantastic formula and great lasting power. I can see myself wearing Bang all summer and Rapture all winter. But that doesn’t mean I don’t also need the other ten shades the brand released…
Have you added any of the new Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Blushes to your wishlist yet?
