I can’t believe not that long ago I hadn’t even heard of a hair mask, and now they are one of my favourite “beauty” products I use. I am always excited about a product that might leave my hair shiny and more manageable, so I was excited to test out TRESemme Nourishing Rituals Liquid Gold Shine Therapy*
TRESemme Nourishing Rituals Liquid Gold Shine Therapy comes in a handy pump bottle and is a pale yellow colour with a touch of shimmer to it. The scent is really nice but not too strong, and it’s hard to describe besides for saying it smells like a good shampoo. The consistency of the product is pretty thick, but definitely not the thickest hair mask I’ve used as it can still be easily dispensed through the pump.
TRESemme Nourishing Rituals Liquid Gold Shine Therapy is actually probably not a traditional hair mask, because I don’t actually use it on all my hair. It has a lighter consistency, and the instructions recommend “concentrating on mid-shaft to ends of hair” and I say, FOLLOW THEM. I am actually a bit behind in my hair care reviewing, because I have taken awhile testing out this product. That’s because when I first started using it, I was using it way, way, too generously.
As I said, TRESemme Nourishing Rituals Liquid Gold Shine Therapy is not as thick as my usual hair masks, so I decided somehow that I needed to put in loads. That meant it was hard to wash out and weighed my hair down. When I finally limited myself to just one pump, applied from about the shoulders down and left to soak in for about 5 minutes– magic! My hair was definitely easier to detangle post-shower than it is when I just use normal conditioner, and when it dried it was also extra shiny and soft. My hair was also not as frizzy, and my curls were a tiny bit looser than usual. In terms of hair masks, I prefer a more traditional, “all over” formula I don’t have to be as careful with, but this definitely does what it promises.
Overall, TRESemme Nourishing Rituals Liquid Gold Shine Therapy was a success. However, I do recommend being careful with how much product you apply, and make sure to rinse it out well. I think TRESemme Nourishing Rituals Liquid Gold Shine Therapy would be a good choice if your hair is only partially dry or damaged at the tips. I have been using this for a few weeks now, and I’ve been adding it in every time I wash my hair and although I prefer a more traditional, all-over hair mask, I definitely appreciate the shine and nourishing this product provides.
Do you use a hair mask? Are you interested in hearing about more of them? I have at least a couple more reviews of them coming up, my hair is going to be so silky smooth!
