I started off the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Collection by sharing some gorgeous and comfortable lip balms, and today I’m back with another product you don’t want to miss! The Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation consists of 20% water to help with dry skin and the end result is lightweight but medium coverage.
The Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation packaging is gorgeous. It’s a frosted glass bottle with gold text embossed on it and a gold-to-purple gradient mirrored cap. LOVE. Inside, the foundation has a thin consistency and is dispensed using a dropper. I like the idea of a dropper in concept, but I didn’t find it worked especially well and it takes a long time to get enough foundation using it.
I have the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation in Fair-Light Neutral and Medium Neutral. Fair-Light Neutral is the perfect match for me, it’s light with yellow undertones and matches my skin pretty perfectly, especially now that I have a tiny bit more sun from the photos below. Medium Neutral is much darker, so not a match, but there are 12 shades to choose from in the range (although it is quite heavy on the light to medium skintones).
Honestly, the first time I applied the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation in Fair-Light Neutral I immediately fell in love. It’s super lightweight and blends gorgeously into the skin. It also has a very natural finish that doesn’t look like makeup but still covers up redness or uneven skintone. For any bad blemishes, you’ll want to pair with a concealer, but I love how comfortable it is for the amount of coverage. It doesn’t last all day in my oiliest areas (around my nose), but on my cheeks and forehead it does, so pair it with a primer or powder or both and I’d be good to go. While a lot of Summer collections are limited edition I’m happy to know that the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation is sticking around, because this is definitely I’d consider repurchasing in the future. I love the lightweight, natural finish on the skin while not sacrificing the benefit of some coverage. If that sounds like what you’re looking for, I highly recommend checking this foundation out!
Have you tried any Tarte foundations before? I really want to try their powder foundation!
