Not to judge the stocking stuffer, but I thought with Christmas getting close I’d round up a few Stocking Stuffers You’ll Actually Use featuring some fun picks that won’t just sit at the bottom of the stocking until next year.
I really love the Bioderma Sensibo H20 Micellar Water*, which recently celebrated its 20th birthday and while this 500 mL might require somebody with a larger stocking, there’s also a 100 mL and 250 mL format. Considering I’m flying to the US on January 1st, I wouldn’t mind finding a little airplane-sized bottle in my stocking!
When it comes to useful things to put in a stocking, it’s hard to think of something more useful than a toothbrush and there are great options for every age from Orajel* and Arm & Hammer*. I especially love the Super Mario-themed electric brushes from Arm & Hammer, such a cute stocking stuffer to a young kid.
Of course, to go with your toothbrush, you’ll need some toothpaste, and Orajel* and Arm & Hammer* have you covered for that as well. Although I’ve never tried the fruity Orajel, I have finished a tube of Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant before and it gives a great, effective clean.
I swear this Marvis Gift Pack* is the last toothpaste option in this post–but how cute are these vintage inspired tubes? This collection includes 7 different flavours, and I’ve reviewed two of them–the Marvis Whitening Mint Toothpaste and Marvis Amarelli Licorice Toothpaste–in the paste. I love the extra clean feeling these toothpastes give my teeth, and I think the unique flavours like Jasmine Mint and Ginger Mint are a fun and useful addition to any stocking!
The Finesse MAX Deep Conditioning Protein Shot* is a weekly hair treatment that contains Keratin protein to help strengthen your hair. The package actually contains a lot of product and despite having long, thick hair I definitely could have gotten two uses out of it. I was really impressed with how soft, strong and shiny my hair felt after using this treatment, and I think it would be a great little product to add to a stocking!
I’ve talked about the Annabelle Stay Sharp Metallic Self Sharpening Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner* before in my roundup of Annabelle Fall 2015 Eyeliners, and I had only good things to say (direct quote: “I really love it and cannot recommend these liners enough!”).
The above swatches are for Enchanted, a metallic blackened emerald green, and Snow White, a bright white. While the formula for Enchanted is definitely creamier, it’s not quite as opaque as Snow White. All Annabelle Stay Sharp liners feature a cap that twists to sharpen the pencil, so you always have a perfect point. I really love the packaging, the formula, and the price. There’s a great range of shades so you can even include more than one in a stocking, but personal favourite shade at the moment is Bronzy!
Christmas is also a great time to pick up some new false nails, because it’s less than a week before New Year’s Eve when a lot of people get more glamorous than usual! I like the Sensational Ready to Wear Classic Nails* for a few reasons. First, they are available in both short and medium lengths, and the short ones are very natural so you don’t feel like you have claws. Second, they come with both adhesive stickers and glue, so you can apply them the way that works best for you. Finally, there are also 28 nails in 14 different sizes, so you should be able find 10 that work for you. Although the design I have is very classic, there are also other option including Glitter Ombre (yes please!).
Well, you know you’ll use a stocking stuffer if it’s edible, and if you have a licorice lover in your life you need to include a tin of Bella Vita Amarelli Licorice*. These licorice pieces are the real thing, which honestly means they are too strong for me, but between their intense flavour and great, vintage-inspired tin, would make a great stocking stuffer for the right person.
The final stocking stuffer you’ll actually use is actually the first product that inspired this post, dry shampoo. I think this is a really useful product to get. I’ve been using the Batiste Dry Shampoo Tropical*, which has an amazing fruity scent. It can leave a white residue, so I have to be careful with black hair, but it is very good at absorbing oils and making my hair look good longer. There’s also a version for dark hair that I’m really interested in testing out!
As much as I love the kitschy knick knacks, I think it’s also great to put in a few stocking stuffers the person will actually use and hopefully you’ll find a little inspiration on this list! If you get a stocking, what do you hope to find in it this year? I’m actually hoping for more cotton pads…I hate buying them but they are so great for eye makeup removal…
