I really love the glossy, shiny look of lip gloss but in general, if you want to wear lip gloss you’ll have to give up two things A) longevity B) pigmentation. That’s not true with Stila Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss in Poppy Vinyl*, a highly pigmented, long-lasting lip gloss.
I know I always say I don’t wear bright lip colours, but honestly, with Stila Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss in Poppy Vinyl, I’m tempted. It’s an orange-red, poppy shade, that’s quite bright but surprisingly flattering. I feel like the glossiness makes it instantly more wearable. This is a long-wearing, albeit slightly sticky, formula, and it leaves behind a subtle stain. I can get at least a few hours with the glossy finish, which is really good for me since I rub my lips together enough that lip products tend to disappear. Asides from the stickiness, which I don’t generally notice after I’ve been wearing it for a little bit, this lip gloss is very comfortable and moisturizing to wear.
The pigmentation of Stila Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss in Poppy Vinyl is excellent, you get opaque, full coverage that is easy to apply with the skinny doe-foot applicator. There’s a little pocket in the tip that holds extra gloss, similar to Apocalips, so I find I only need to dip my applicator in the tube twice for perfect applicator. This is a bright colour, but the applicator means I didn’t have a difficult time getting it to apply nicely.
Stila Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss in Poppy Vinyl is not transfer resistant, but I didn’t have any issue with it getting onto my teeth or outside my lip lines, it’s just not worth applying right before eating and drinking. The formula is a bit thick, with a very faint scent. In terms of packaging, I not only like the applicator, I think the tube itself is really pretty and it is one where as you pull out the applicator for the first time, the end of it fills with colour, whereas before it was empty and it is obvious when it has been used or not.
Do you wear lipglosses? What do you think of this shade? The more I look at it, the more I think I might be falling in love…
