Earlier this year Stila released the Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadows, which I tried out in the shade Titanium and had varying degrees of success with. However, the finish itself was very unique, so I was definitely intrigued when I learned they had released another product in the line and I had the chance to try the Stila Magnificent Metals Eye Liner in Metallic Navy*.
Packaging-wise, the Stila Magnificent Metals Eye Liner in Metallic Navy is quite similar to the eyeshadow, except the pot is black instead of silver. It also doesn’t require that you mix it with any kind of primer to apply. However the pigment inside has the same kind loose, pressed consistency to it that moves around a bit and is “squishy”. This shade is a dark navy in a black base that is incredibly shimmery, as expected.
I can carefully apply Stila Magnificent Metals Eye Liner in Metallic Navy as a liner, but I actually prefer it as an eyeshadow. As a liner, the brush digs into the product quite a bit and it is hard to get a thin, opaque line as it is a bit chunky from all the glitter. As an eyeshadow, I just gently apply using my fingertip and get very sparkly and opaque coverage across the lid. There can be a bit of fall out or creasing, but I didn’t find it to be too bad.
Stila Magnificent Metals Eye Liner in Metallic Navy provides a very dramatic and sparkly eye look, but for the right occasion it definitely adds something special. I much prefer it as an eyeshadow, but I’m curious if you have tried these products, what have your experiences been like?
