Soap Stories Review + GIVEAWAY

Soap Stories 2I feel like one of those gifts that is always appreciated is a stunning bar of handmade soap so I kinda felt like I got a present in the mail when I opened this box of Soap Stories goodies. This is a brand that sells products that are hand-made with natural ingredients, and after I share my thoughts, you’ll have a chance to win a package just like the one I got!

Soap Stories Natural Shine Nail KitFirst off, I tried out the Soap Stories Natural Shine Nail Kit in Lavender*.  This gift set contains a zippered container, an Oatmeal-Lavender Exfoliating Soap, a Natural Shine Nail Buffer And Nail File, and a Cuticle Oil. I do think that the price ($100) is quite strange given that the soap inside retails separately for $12, but I did like the products.

The Oatmeal-Lavender Exfoliating Soap has a lovely lavender scent and does a great job both lathering up and exfoliating in the shower. The nail buffer is quite standard and not something I find very effective, but it does compliment the gift. Finally, I really love the Cuticle Oil. The only thing is that the applicator means quite a lot of oil can pour out at one time (it’s just a regular opening, you don’t have to squeeze it or anything), so you do have to be careful. It is a really nice oil that absorbs well and leaves my cuticles in great shape!

Soap Stories Shea and Cocoa Body ButterThe Soap Stories Shea and Cocoa Body Butter in Breeze* is a very thick, intensive body butter with a fresh, ocean air scent to it that’s very nice. It’s very moisturizing without feeling heavy or leaving my skin greasy, and I don’t need very much. The scent makes it perfect for summer and I’m enjoying using it on those patches that need a little extra care.

Soap Stories Patchouli Blood Orange SoapI saved the Soap Stories namesakes for last because in my opinion, they are the clear winner from this brand. The Soap Stories Patchouli Blood Orange Soap* is definitely true to its name, it’s a mix of citrus and patchouli that actually works. I don’t usually like Patchouli but the fact that is blended with Blood Orange makes it less musky, although it still has an earthiness to it. All the soaps are stunning in appearance, and this would be both gorgeous and functional in the bathroom.

Soap Stories Raspberry SoapI saved my absolute favourite both appearance and scent-wise for last, and that’s the Soap Stories Raspberry Bar Soap*. This has such a fruity, authentic raspberry scent, with some very slight creamy vanilla to it, and the chunks of white in transparent dark pink are just so pretty. I really like the lather on these soaps, and they don’t seem to “melt away” too quickly either.

Soap StoriesThe standout products from Soap Stories are definitely the gorgeous bar soaps with amazing scents. There are a lot of more flavours I’d love to try and for $12 each that’s quite reasonable for a nice bar of handmade soap. I love fruity and refreshing scents in the shower, so I have my eye on Lemon Raspberry and Grapefruit, but you can check out all their options and purchase them directly from their website.
