One product I’ve unexpectedly fallen in love with is anything brows. I honestly get really excited whenever I have a new brow product so try out (check out all my brow reviews here) but it’s rare to see a really innovative brow product. Whether it’s a gel, pencil, or powder, usually it’s pretty standard with the formula and shade that make the difference. All that to say, there’s a brand new kind of brow product available now, and that’s the Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder*.
The Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder contains a loose powder with a precise foam applicator. To use, you shake the tube and the volumizing powder attaches to the applicator, then you remove it tap of any excess. The pointed applicator lets you apply the powder your brows precisely.
The Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder is available in in four shades, Blonde, Taupe, Brunette and Dark Brown. I have the shade Dark Brown, which is a gorgeous cool-toned dark brown that works great on my black hair, but would definitely work with lighter shades as well. It’s always really nice to see a brown that isn’t too warm-toned! The powder itself is really finely milled and very pigmented. You can get a little fall out when applying but I find it easy to clean up, and quite minimal if I tap the applicator against the edge of the tube before using it.
I applied the Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder in Dark Brown to my left brow only so you can see how it compares. To apply, you can either gently dab to mimic hair, or sweep the side of the applicator across your brows for a bolder look. I run a spoolie through my brows after applying to get them into shape and help evenly disperse the powder.
You can see the final result in my Rebellious Valentine’s Day Makeup Look, which is really soft and natural, but definitely more full than my ‘naked’ brows. I was really impressed that the Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder lasted all day on its own, but my brows can be a little unwieldy so I’d prefer to apply a clear gel just to hold them in place.
I was really intrigued by the Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder in Dark Brown but a little unsure of how it would work. Luckily, I can tell you that not only is this a creative new product, but it also does a great job for brows. If you are looking for an easy-to-apply, natural-looking product I definitely recommend check out the Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder!
