Smashbox 24 Hour CC Spot Concealer in Fair

Smashbox 24 Hour CC Spot Concealer in Fair Swatch and Review 3Considering my favourite concealer is only sold in the UK, I’m always looking for a more easily available option. I mostly use concealer as a way to hide blemishes and redness, and not so much as an under-the-eye treatment, so the Smashbox 24 Hour CC Spot Concealer in Fair* sounded perfect for me.  This new concealer is waterproof and meant for dark spots, sun spots and post-acne marks. Basically, if you have some pigment you want to hide, you need to try this out!

Smashbox 24 Hour CC Spot Concealer in Fair Swatch and ReviewThere are 8 shades available of the Smashbox 24 Hour CC Spot Concealer, and I have the lightest option, Fair, which is a pale, warm-toned shade just a hint too light for me. It has a thin formula a pointed sponge applicator. I am not a fan of the packaging because I find it means concealer accumulates quite a lot around the opening–I took these photos when I had only used it once or twice and you can already see it start to happen but by now it’s all the way down the area you twist the cap on.

Packaging woes aside, the Smashbox 24 Hour CC Spot Concealer in Fair has a thin but pigmented formula. I can dab just a bit onto the area I want to cover, and quickly pat it in–it does dry fast. The concealer does a great job hiding dark spots or pigmentation. It also works on blemishes although it can look a bit dry by the end of the day, so I find it better on ones that aren’t at all “crusty” if that makes sense (sorry for that word, but it’s true). For the same reason, I think this concealer is best if you don’t have super dry skin–or maybe combine it with a moisturizing primer.

Smashbox 24 Hour CC Spot Concealer in Fair Swatch and Review 2Smashbox 24 Hour CC Spot Concealer in Fair lasts all day and is a great option if you are looking to conceal any kind of pigmentation on your face and want to make sure it won’t budge. My only complaint is I really wish the packaging was better, because I think there’s a pretty good product inside! Do you have a favourite concealer?
