Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes* definitely have a kind of cult status, it seems like I am always hearing somebody raving about them on YouTube, so I was pretty excited to test them out and see if they were as great as everyone says.
I don’t use makeup wipes every day, but the days when I love to use them are those when I have on a lot of makeup and they work great as a first step rather than dabbing eight separate cotton pads in micellar water (or on the occasional day when I’m super tired and lazy of course). Because of that, I am really only interested in wipes that do a good job removing a lot of makeup and the Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes definitely meet that criteria.
The actual surface area of Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes isn’t massive, and while the wipes are wet they aren’t soaking, but whatever solution they’ve been sitting in is fantastic. I can easily use one to take off a ton of eye makeup (including some stubborn mascara and liquid liner) in addition to a face full of foundation. In a case like that, I end up using every piece of space on the wipe, but I manage to get 99% of my makeup off.
There’s a faint and inoffensive scent to the Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes and they although they are sturdy and don’t tear or disintegrate while I’m using them, they also aren’t too rough. If I have to go over a heavy eye makeup area a few times they do leave the skin a little bit red, but that’s been the case with every wipe I’ve tried so far. I also don’t find them drying at all, which is a problem with a lot of wipes.
Overall, I can definitely see why Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes are so well-loved. I think they are non-irritating and super effective and a packet like the one I have (7 wipes) would be perfect for travel. They do a really good job removing makeup, but like with all wipes, cleansing afterwards is still a good idea. I really liked these and I am definitely interested in trying more from the Simple line. I am currently testing out one of their face washes and toners, so look for a review of those soon!
