It’s fun that I have to now label my empties posts with the year in order to tell this post apart from September 2013 Empties! I actually did even better this month than I did a year ago, and there are quite a few items, so let’s get started…
Hmm… the first photo of my September 2014 Empties really makes me understand why my boyfriend thinks I’m just storing bags of garbage…
I finished a mini Lush Green FUN* and Lush Red FUN* from the Christmas set last year (I’m working hard to finish all of last year’s Christmas Lush before this year…) There’s also a small Lush Gold FUN* from the Hanukkah Gift Box, as well as large Lush Gold Fun from a second gift set I bought. Yeah, I have a lot of FUN! As I’ve said before, I like it but I prefer regular body wash or soap bars from Lush instead. There’s also a small sample of Lush Honey I Washed The Kids which I love.
I have four Canadian Bath Bomb Company Bath Bombs* along with three samples from the brand, all of which I reviewed recently. My favourites were Mandarin Pomander and Ruby Grapefruit.
I have two hand soaps in my September 2014 Empties, both of which I would repurchase. They are the cooling and soothing Dial Deep Cleansing Moisturizing Hand Soap in Water Blossoms* and the delicious Bath and Body Works Lemon Meringue Cheer. I also have a conditioner that I really loved which is the Herbal Essence None of Your Frizzness, but I won’t need to buy conditioner for about 10 years. I also finished a Lush Fairly Traded Honey Shampoo* which smells amazing but isn’t as moisturizing as I would have expected, and I prefer the Blousey I tried more recently.
I finished up two body lotions, both of which I adored the scent of. There’s the Lush Sikkim Girls Body Lotion which has an amazing vanilla jasmine scent and came in a gift set I bought. I also have The Body Shop Argan Oil Body Butter* which was incredibly rich and amazing, though I do have a couple full size body butters I need to use up first. I also finished up the Rusk Sensories Wellness Reflect Treatment, which is a hair mask that did it’s job but nothing amazing.
Three polishes went in the garbage this month, none of which was 100% done but none of which I could use anymore. Both the LA Colors Mini Glitter and Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Hardner got way too thick to use and had hardly any left. There’s also a Wet N Wild Top Coat though, which I had included in my project pan but I honestly just really hate it and it doesn’t dry well and makes everything smear so it is finally just getting tossed out. I also had a Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Polish Remover Wipes, which could have been more effective although it was kinda old, as well as Avon Nail Art Design Strips in Newsy Newsy* which I loved the print of.

I am working on my stash of cleansing wipes and those included Boo Bamboo Makeup Remover Wipes* which are a nice natural option but wouldn’t replace my favourite Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes* in terms of how effective they are. I had a sample size of LA Fresh Travel-Lite Facial Cleansing Wipes which were also nice, and a Antiperspirant Wipe for Women from the sample brand both of which would be handy for travel but not really needed otherwise. I also have a small DAVIDsTEA Cherry Snowcone sample, which I loved and I’m a little sad is all gone now, hopefully it’s a flavour they bring back next year.
I also finished up a few more tea DAVIDsTEA empties as I work hard to make a dent in my stash, including small sizes of Organic Blueberry Jam, Chocolate Rocket, and Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait, all of which I liked (and I’m most interested in trying more of the Strawberry Rhubarb). I also finished a Maple Sugar sample from the fall collection which was DELICIOUS and I’ll have a review soon. Finally, I finished up two larger bags of Birthday Cake and Stormy Night, neither of which I see myself repurchasing but I do love trying new flavours from the brand.
Overall, I’m super happy with my September 2014 Empties and I hope that I finish as many products in October. Final count for this month? 40 products! Wow, no wonder these posts take me so long to write…
