With less than a month left till Summer and a weekend that included temperatures of 30+ degrees, it’s about time I finish up my Spring posting. I did have quite a few exciting new Sephora Collection Spring 2016 Launches to test out, but I’ve finally finished the job and it’s time to share them with you.
First off, you can’t ignore that absolutely adorable Sephora Collection Breakups to Makeup Bag. I shared the gorgeous “These are a Slew of my Favourite Things” at Christmas, and this season there are two new designs. I have “Please, I Can’t Even Commit To A Lipstick” but you can also pick up the “I May Not Be Perfect But My Makeup Is” option. This canvas bag is surprisingly large, and as in the past, very well made with a sturdy zipper and cute heart locket lining. Of course, the print itself is also hilarious (I think).
To store inside your makeup bag, there are the Sephora Collection Calming Natural Tea Tree Blotting Papers. This pack comes with 100 sheets and contains tea tree, which has antibacterial and antiseptic qualities. I’m not sure how much good the tea tree can do in the form of a blotting sheet, but because you’re rubbing these all over your face, it can’t hurt! The sheets are thin and a minty green, I find they have a light tea tree scent, which is very subtle but I actually do find it soothing. I don’t regularly use blotting sheets, but I actually found that these were better at oil absorption than the cheaper brand I’d tried.
If you’re looking for a great new brush to do your brows, the Sephora Collection Spring 2016 releases also include the addition of the Sephora Collection PRO Brow Brush #20. I haven’t tried any Sephora PRO brushes before but I have heard really good things about them, and this one is great. It’s dual-ended with a spoolie as well as a natural-bristle, angled brush. The brush side is soft but precise, and if you do your brows with powder I think this would be an awesome tool to have.
As usual, Sephora Collection has also released a few cute, more economical brush sets. The Sephora Collection I’m Not Perfect But My Eyeliner Is Brush Canister is available in 4 different shades, and I have the black one. The brush handles are clear acrylic with black glitter in them. These are lightweight, travel-friendly brushes that include everything you need to do an eye look. There’s a Cream Shadow, Angled Shadow, Shadow, Smudge, and Angled Liner brush. While the brushes don’t feel super expensive and have shed a tiny bit, they are soft enough and really perfect for travel in their adorable, compact tin.
The second brush set I tried out was the Sephora Collection Here’s The Skinny Brush Wrap. Available in four different shades, I have the Purple variation and I just love the shiny purple brushes and matching case, it almost looks like a clutch. These brushes have tiny handles and are super travel friendly. The set includes a Powder, Foundation, Crease, Shadow, and Angled Liner brush. While those aren’t the 5 brushes I would pick as my “must haves” it does give you something for the whole face. Plus, there’s extra room in the wrap if you want to add a few more favourites!
Of course, if you have all those brushes you’ll want some eyeshadow to apply with them, and that’s where the Sephora Collection Colourful Eyeshadows come in. These shadows are available in 115 different shades! There are a bunch of different finishes, but the shade I have is the Sephora Collection Colourful Eyeshadow in Tree Hugger, which is a luster matte. This is a chocolate brown matte with some shimmer in it.
As you can tell from the swatch (bare skin, no primer as always) the formula is incredibly pigmented. It’s smooth and silky, and while I don’t have much experience with Sephora single eye shadows, based on Tree Hugger I’m very impressed and would be interested in trying other shades. Also, the Canadian price is only $13–I have bought single shadows at the drugstore for about that cost!
One thing I never think about when traveling is actually cleaning my makeup brushes, but I have the perfect solution now, the Sephora Collection Mini Dry Clean Brush Cleaner. This is an adorable mini version of Sephora’s solid brush cleaner. It’s gentle enough to be used daily, and the tiny size is super convenient to travel with, but because it’s a solid it still is fairly long lasting. It also comes with a little sponge, which I rub my brushes in once they are soapy to help get rid of all the makeup. Honestly, combined together this little duo is AMAZING. It was so much faster and easier to clean my brushes. I highly recommend the Sephora Collection Mini Dry Clean Brush Cleaner or the full-sized version.
That was a long one! But there you have it, a bunch of the exciting new releases from the Sephora Collection Spring 2016 Collection. It’s hard to pick my favourite products but I really love that Mini Dry Clean Brush Cleaner and I’m super impressed by the Sephora Collection Colourful Eyeshadows. I think Sephora Collection is super underrated and I highly recommend checking out the lineup if you haven’t already!
Have you tried any new products from Sephora Collection lately? Do you use a solid brush cleanser?
