Sally Hansen Salon Effects Halloween Collection: Little Black Lace & Hallowscene

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Halloween Collection Little Black LaceI love anything Halloween-themed and I swear it’s because it’s the best holiday of the year and not just because it’s my birthday. Luckily, lots of beauty brands agree with me and do special spooky Halloween collections, and today I have one of those to share with you. The Sally Hansen Salon Effects Halloween Collection contains four different nail stick designs, and I got to try out two of them, Little Black Lace* and Hallowscene*.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Halloween Collection Little Black Lace 3Sally Hansen Salon Effects Halloween Collection Little Black Lace is really cool because it’s actually a fabric overlay with a sticky back that you can apply either on top of painted or unpainted nails. I thought it would look cool over Sally Hansen Grape Gatsby* from the Fall collection and… I was right! I think this is a really cool look, and it’s not one I’d be able to accomplish on my own. The fabric has a texture to it, and I found it more difficult to trim the ends and get the decals to fit than when I’ve used real nail polish ones. However the end result was awesome. I think Sally Hansen needs to make these in different colours for year round… I’m imagining red lace over a dark green polish for Christmas…

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Halloween Collection Hallowscene The second set I had I was a little hesistant to use because I kinda wanted to save them for Halloween itself, but one day I just went for it and applied the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Halloween Collection Hallowscene nail stickers. These are thicker than normal stickers and I also found them less sticky, so they weren’t super long-lasting on me (a day or two), but again, they were really cool. I mean, look: Sally Hansen Salon Effects Halloween Collection HallowsceneThe design does need some time to “charge” in the light, but in the dark, it’s pretty epic. I think the silhouettes also look cool in the light, although you can see that I had some issues with the application on some nails.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Halloween Collection Little Black Lace 2Overall, even though the nail stickers I tried from the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Halloween Collection aren’t the easiest to apply, they give a really cool end result. I think that’s fine for Halloween, where it’s most important to look really, really, cool for one night. I mean, I’ll be spending it at home watching movies. But I have cute pajamas and nails.

Do you have any nail plans for Halloween? What do you think of these decals?
