Sally Hansen Insta-Dri is a line I am a bit conflicted over. In my experience the polishes have great pigmentation, dry quick, and are quite affordable. However, I am not a big fan of the bottle shade and find the brush too wide. That said, when they have some especially nice shades I can’t resist, which is exactly what happened with the recent launch of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Moroccan Spice Market, which I have in the shades Moracc-go*, Sizzlin’ Saffron*, and Pep in Your Step*.
Out of the three shades, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Moroccan Spice Market Moracc-go was the one I was most skeptical over because I really don’t wear brown nail polish. However, as soon as I applied it, magic happened–it’s only one coat! If I was wearing it I would probably go with two just to help even out any imperfections, but I wanted to show you that you can definitely get away with one and it has a great glossy finish. I’m still not in love with this warm-toned, almost rusty chocolate milk brown but if you’re looking for this shade, this is definitely the bottle to pick up!
All three of the polishes I tried from the collection really impressed me, but the biggest surprise came with the shade Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Moroccan Spice Market Sizzlin’ Saffron, a creamy sunshine yellow with a smooth formula. With one coat it was streaky and pretty pigmented, with two it was nearly perfect, and I finally ended up going with three just to even things out. That is a few coats, but the end result is easily one of the best yellows I’ve ever tried. Considering the quick dry formula, you could probably get away with two thick coats, but I think you get more of an even finish this way. It’s not perfect, but when it comes to yellow, it’s way closer than you normally get!
Of course I saved what would be my favourite shade, the purple, for last. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Moroccan Spice Market Pep in Your Step is a bright purple cream formula that is perfect for summer… or any other time of year. It’s sheer with one coat so I went with two and the end result is that it dries very quickly to a super glossy finish. I will definitely be reaching for this shade lots more in the future and I am happy to have it with such a great formula.
Out of the three shades I tried in the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Moroccan Spice Market Collection, I think you’ll be happy if you grab any of them. If you are looking for a good yellow I highly recommend checking out Sizzlin’ Saffron, but otherwise you need to pick up this Pep in Your Step!
Which of these shades is your favourite? How is your hunt for the elusive good formula yellow going?
