Winter is almost over (apparently) and you know what that means? SPRING POLISHES ARE COMING. Bright, cheerful shades to remind us that the world isn’t dead underneath all that snow. There are actually dozens of offerings between all the different Sally Hansen lines, so I’ll have a few more posts as my nails can handle it, but today I have two shades from the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Spring 2015 Collection, Sally Hansen Brown Nose* and Sally Hansen Hello Pretty*.
The polishes in the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Spring 2015 Collection are meant to be applied directly to your nails with no base or top coat needed. Although it might not be necessary for shine, I still like a top coat to help my polish last longer. Sally Hansen Brown Nose is a chocolate milk shade with a pinkish edge to it that I think makes it a little prettier than an average brown shade. The formula is smooth and even with two coats for opacity.
I really love the brushes of the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Spring 2015 polishes, which make them really easy to apply even if the shade Sally Hansen Hello Pretty is a bit streaky. I went with three coats of this bright pink–which appears brighter on the nails than it does in the bottle for me–to help even out the finish, even though it didn’t need that many for opacity. It’s a cheerful spring shade, but I do recommend top coat as I noticed tip wear after 24 hours otherwise.
There are a lot of bright lovely shades in the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Spring 2015, and although I always have my eye on the purples (oh hello Mardi Grape and Clean Slate), Sally Hansen Brown Nose and Hello Pretty are two more neutral options that still embrace the season. In particular, if you’re looking for a pretty wearable brown with a great formula (and brush) consider picking up a bottle of Sally Hansen Brown Nose. What are your favourite polishes for spring?
