Even though Nova Scotia likes to pretend otherwise, summer is coming, and I want to be prepared! So I have been very interested in the new Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in Ivory*, because it promises lightweight shine control which is great year-round, but especially as the weather (eventually) starts to warm up.
Shade selection wise, I got pretty lucky and the bottle I was sent of Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in Ivory was a good match for me–I’m a NC20 for reference. There are two shades lighter, so I think this might actually be a decent foundation for fair skin, as well as 5 darker shades. Although it’s described as a liquid mousse, I actually found this product really think and not at all liquid. However, despite that it is quite light and airy in texture, as well as on the skin. I was shocked at how lightweight it was given the amount of coverage.
I applied Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in Ivory using my fingers, and the packaging is hygienic and easy to control the amount that you get. It does take me a decent amount of product to cover my face, but I have used it several times and the tube still seems very full. The coverage is the fullest of any foundation I own, as you can tell all the redness is gone from my cheeks and it basically covers blemishes too with maybe an added touch of concealer for really bad areas. It also worked on any minor scarring on my chin and many of the freckles on my nose. I would say this is basically full coverage. That does mean I need to add some dimension into my face with a dab of blush, but I am really loving the flawless effect overall!
Lasting power of Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in Ivory was really good. It’s obviously not hot weather out yet so I am excited to try it again in the heat, but this foundation lasts all day on my skin without powdering in the “normal” areas and at least 6 hours on my oilier areas. There is also a Stay Matte Primer I am interested in combining it with, and normally I would powder for longer lasting coverage anyway.
Overall, I’m really happy with Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in Ivory, and I have already gotten compliments when I was wearing it! I have usually been a tinted moisturizer type of person, but I am definitely seeing the appeal of more coverage with this product.
Do you use full coverage foundations?
