I think it’s so fun when makeup and polish brands collaborate with celebrities and one of the most well-loved collaborations I know of is the Rimmel and Kate Moss one, so I was really interested to see what the brand new Rimmel Rita Ora Collection would be like (even though I didn’t actually know who Rita Ora was… a British singer!). Although there are a lot of new products in the collection in the UK, in Canada we got six of the brand new polish shades–3 hot and 3 cool. The six available, I tried out four polishes from the Rimmel Rita Ora Collection which were White Hot Love*, Breakfast in Bed*, Midnight Rendezvous* and Do Not Disturb*.
All the shades in the Rimmel Rita Ora Collection are supposed to have one coat application, but I preferred them all with two, especially the light ones as they are pretty streaky with one coat. For White Hot Love, two coat is pretty even as long as there was a bit thicker of a second coat, however I still don’t think it’s quite perfect. Although there’s shimmer in the bottle, it seems to be hidden on the nail and results in more of a pearly finish. Overall Rimmel Rita Ora Collection White Hot Love is a good colour for summer but it’s not going to be my new favourite white polish. Rimmel Rita Ora Collection Breakfast in Bed is a baby pink with a similar finish and issues to White Hot Love. It’s got a hidden shimmer and is very streaky with one coat, so I went with two, but honestly looking at these photos I kinda wish I had done three on some nails. It’s another pretty colour, and it’s fairly unique in my collection, but the formula and finish aren’t brilliant enough that I would reach for it over other, similar enough shades.
I really think the dark, bright shades are where the Rimmel Rita Ora Collection shines, and Midnight Rendezvous is a perfect dark purple for fall that’s absolutely perfect and even with two coats.
The final shade I have to share from the Rimmel Rita Ora Collection is a bright teal green (more green than in looks in my photos, tricky shade to capture) called Do Not Disturb. It looks great with two coats, although my second one was a bit thicker, but the end result is even and shiny. However, definitely a staining warning as you should use a good base coat and be careful with your cuticles when removing. I tested this shade out and got about three good days out of it.
