I really love the gloss and lasting power of gel polishes, but I’m less interested in the acetone-heavy removal process, so these new gel polishes that don’t require a light to cure are of definite interest to me. I recently tried out a gorgeous shade for summer, Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Pocket Aces* and the matching Diamond Top Coat*.
Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Pocket Aces is a gorgeous, creamy coral shade that looks fantastic with my skintone and I’m a huge fan of. The polish includes a “color + base” so I wore it on its own with no staining.
I did end up with 3 coats of Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Pocket Aces because it wasn’t leveling well but it dries very very quickly so I didn’t mind. However it was a bit strange because it seemed like it could be one coat, and next time I will definitely try 1 or 2 thicker coats instead. It was very glossy on its own, but I used one coat of the Revlon Diamond Top Coat to give it extra shine and lasting power.
In terms of lasting power, I was really impressed with Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Pocket Aces and Diamond Top Coat, which gave me about 4 days before tip wear and that was with me being pretty rough on my hands. The combination was definitely longer lasting than my usual polishes, and the gorgeous glossy shine has me lusting over many more shades in this collection.
So far my Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy experience has been awesome, and there are a ton of gorgeous shades in the new collection so I am definitely hoping to try more in the future. Have you tried out any of these new polishes yet?
