If there’s one sad truth when it comes to me and nail polish it is that no matter how well you make a nude polish, I won’t love it. Such is the case with Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Checkmate*, a pale beige. The brand actually impressed me before with their traditional formula with the shade Revlon Elegant* as well, which I then passed onto my twin sister who loves it.
As much as I must admit I hate this colour and find it super unflattering on me, Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Checkmate has the same glossy finish and fantastic formula I love from this line. I went with two coats for an even finish and the end result is creamy, opaque and lovely. Except for the colour. Sorry, I’ll stick with Wild Card and The Winning Streak instead.
I am really impressed with the wear and glossy finish of these shades, so if you’re looking for nude with those characteristics, definitely consider Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Checkmate and the matching magical Diamond Top Coat. I just want to say, it’s not you, it’s me to this polish. And then quickly remove it and put on something else!
