So I have been having so much fun and motivation with my Project Pan for makeup, I’ve decided to basically expand it into my reading. I don’t really need the “no buy” aspect as I have been pretty good over the last couple years of not buying books, mainly because I wasn’t reading much and had so many to finish. However I still have massive stacks (both literal and digital) to read. My monthly reading plans help motivate me with what to read, but I thought it would be fun to make a specific goal of books I definitely want to read. I do yearly reading goals but 2014 were pretty vague and incomplete, so this will be more specific.
One of the things I find the most motivating in terms of accomplishing things is writing down lists and being able to check things off the lists. Sharing those lists on my blog? Also fun for me!
I accept a lot of ebooks (or egalleys, since they are advance copies) for review from different websites and in order to keep being approved, I need to actually read and review them. I am doing okay at this, but I would love to see my ratio of books approved to books reviewed get a lot better. So my focus for my current reading goals is to work on reading and reviewing books I have been sent. I will divide them into a few categories. Books may be replicated between lists in reality (something is a series and an egalley) but they can’t count twice so they will only be listed once.

At the end of about 3 months (August 1st) I will post another update on my reading goals and see how many books I have managed to cross off this list. Luckily some of my books overlap with various categories– so I have a paper copy and a digital copy, and reading them will feel extra productive. I am going to be moving sometime by September and so I am prioritizing paper copies that I can potentially donate and then not to have to move. However all the books on these lists sound awesome to me and I really do want to read them all. It’s ambitious but… aim high! Books I don’t read will be carried over, and I’ll be back with a new list of goals in August unless I happen to somehow make a huge dent before then. I don’t expect to read all the books on this list– it is really long, but it’s something to aim for, and if I’m really productive and maybe have a vacation somewhere in there, it is possible!
A second goal that is a part of this is to get rid of at least 20 books between now and August 1st. It’s not much, but every little bit will help with the move. Plus I already have 5 picture books I will give a friend for her daughter after I review them.
If you have some summer reading goals I’d love to know about them! If you want to join me on this TBR journey, also let me know if you post about it because any support and encouragement will be very welcome!
Happy Reading!
