I know it’s been awhile since I’ve shared a beauty post, so I wanted to come back with something really lovely, which is why it was a great time to share the Quo Spring 2017 Collection. Quo always does amazing limited edition packaging and I really love the teal and coral quartz design on the exterior, and it’s all pretty heavy duty white plastic with mirrors on the lids.
First off there’s a new brow set, and unlike the previous iteration (reviewed here), the Quo Spring 2017 Quo Brow Palette actually works on my very dark brows, if I stick to the darker shade. It’s got a duo of browns, a shimmery brow highlight, a eyebrow cream and a dual-ended applicator with a spoolie and an angled brush. This little trio is really perfect for both every day wear and travel, I love that it even has a mirror on the lid. The pigmentation of the shadows is excellent and I definitely recommend this set!
The Quo Spring 2017 Quo Eye Shadow Palette in Rock It! is a matte quad featuring a pale cream, a pinky peach, a mauvey brown and a navy. The shadows are a little dry, but pretty good for mattes, although not heavily pigmented and I did have to build them up a bit when swatching or using them.
If you’re looking for shimmer, the Quo Spring 2017 Quo Eye Shadow Palette in No Pressure contains an icy pastel green, a pinky champagne, a baby yellow and a silvery taupe. This quad is a bit strange for me with all the pastels, which are quite subtle on the eyes, but I just adore that taupe-brown! It is smooth and silky and I wish all of Quo’s shadows were that lovely.
On the eyes, I’m wearing the Quo Spring 2017 Brow Palette as well as the Quo Eye Shadow Palette in No Pressure, with the champagne in the inner corner, the yellow on the centre of the lid and the brown in the crease and over the lid since the yellow didn’t show up well. I do think the shadows would benefit from a primer, but it does give a nice natural look.
Quo Spring 2017 Collection also includes two face palettes with a mix of highlight, bronzer and blush shades. First is the Quo Face Palette in Heat It Up, which is the more cool-toned option. I have really enjoyed Quo face products in the past so I was surprised not to totally fall in love with these, but I did love the shimmery pink highlight in the upper right, and the terra-cotta bronzer in the lower right was also really nice.
The second palette is the Quo Face Palette in Down to Earth, which is the much warmer option of the two. I preferred the pigmentation on this one, as they were much smoother and less dry, but the bronzer in the lower right is definitely too warm to really work as a bronzer. The coral blush in the middle bottom row is really nice though, and while it’s a bit dark for my current skintone, I also like the peachy highlight in the upper right.
Finally, there are also new lip products as a part of the Quo Spring 2017 Collection. The Quo Matte Lip Crayon Almond Nude and Pretty in Pink–I’m pretty sure you can guess which is which–feature my favourite kind of twist up packaging, although this rounded tip is not meant for precision. This is a comfortable creamy matte. While the pink is a really blue-toned bubblegum shade that never looks good on me, I really love the Almond Nude.
In the above look I’m wearing the Quo Eye Shadow Palette in No Pressure, Quo Face Palette in Down to Earth and the Quo Matte Lip Crayon Almond Nude. Honestly, I think is the perfect look for Spring–at least you if you love neutral shades like me! Oh, I’m also wearing the Quo Brow Palette…I was just thinking how nice my brows look in this photo.
There’s plenty to pick from in the new Quo Spring 2017 Collection, and I haven’t even shared it all–there are also some stunning, unicorn-esque looking brushes I might need. Out of these, I especially love the Brow Palette and Matte Lip Crayon, I’ll get a lot of use out of that Almond Nude shade!
