Sorry for my inconsistent posting lately, I’ve been pretty worn out and stressed out and I guess that’s grad school. Luckily I’ve also been competing in a query competition, which is going quite well so far as my novel LIES MY FATHER TOLD ME, made it to the Top 16. I’ll find out soon if I’m in the Top 8.
Unsurprisingly, despite my busy schedule, I’ve still found time to buy more nail polish, so I’m sharing a collective haul from the last few weeks. You may have already gotten a sneak peak of this if you follow me on Instagram. I was pretty proud of the deals and and the semi-restraint I’ve showed, but that all went out the window these last few days with the Julep warehouse sale. Whoops?
I’m still craving the Rainbow Honey collection (Part 2) but after that I believe it’s time for “No-Buy” territory. I’ll be posting about that for support once it actually starts, I’m planning to do one for tea as well after a recent tea haul I’ll be sharing soon.
Anyway I thought these polishes would be fun to share so you know what to expect upcoming on Writing Whimsy. I purchased these over about 3 weeks and the total damage was only $30 + tax, thank you coupons, sales, and clearance. Not bad!
What did I find?
–OPI in Affair In Red Square, Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous, Lincoln Park After Dark, Pirouette My Whistle. These were being sold in 2-packs, along with a rhinestone pen (sadly the only ones left were broken or damaged) for $5 a set! I don’t currently own any OPIs besides for a crackle so I’m excited to use these, even if they are more wintery colours. I was thinking of swapping/selling Lincoln Park but it could be a nice base for sparkle so I’m going to test it out.
–Maybelline Color Show in Drops of Jade and Pretty in Polka, both limited edition from the Polka Dots Collection, and Shock Wave a Limited Edition from the Color Goes Electric Spring Collection. I bought the two Polka Dots colours that my store had (besides for orange, which looked awful to me) but sadly they were out of the blue and transparent. The PD ones were $3, and the blue was only $2 and I thought was a nice bright shimmery colour for summer. I also had a buy 3 get $2 off coupon 🙂
–Essie in Naught Nautical, the only colour I found appealing from the Summer 2013 Collection, and Angora Cardigan, a total fall colour but when there was a one day amazing Essie sale for $7 I just saw this on the rack and had to have it. It’s so different than any other polish I have, and so gorgeous!
I’ve only tested out one of these polishes so far, Drops of Jade, and I love it! Swatches to follow 🙂 Let me know if you have any requests, I admit to being tempted by Pretty in Polka.
Have you bought any new polish lately? Let me know what in the comments!
