It’s taken me awhile to review Philosophy The Microdelivery Triple-Acid Brightening Peel* because I really wanted to give it a fair shot. I tested this product out for 6 weeks, because it’s pretty expensive ($88 CAN for 12 uses) and it’s from a brand I love, so I was definitely expecting to be blown away. So was I?
Philosophy The Microdelivery Triple-Acid Brightening Peel promises things like improvement in skin smoothness, brightening, fine lines, and clarity after 4 uses (a month). It comes with 12 pre-soaked pads, each individually packaged. I really like that format because you don’t have to worry about other ones drying up when you open the package like you do with other kinds of masks. I found each pad was quite wet and had no issues applying the liquid all over my face, with enough for the backs of my hands, my neck, and even some of my chest as well. I did this after cleansing and before going to bed. Philosophy suggests if you are irritated you can add a moisturizer before sleeping, but that wasn’t an issue for me. Once applied it felt a little bit sticky.
A big promise Philosophy The Microdelivery Triple-Acid Brightening Peel makes is that despite being a chemical peel there will be no irritation. They absolutely deliver on that promise. However, here’s why that’s a problem– I just don’t think these are strong enough. I wanted to take before and after photos, but there was no difference to capture. In terms of skin texture, I think there was a slight increase in softness, but it wasn’t dramatic. I don’t have a ton of fine lines, so perhaps that’s why I didn’t notice a difference, but I also just didn’t feel like my skin was overall brightened the way that was promised. I really expected more.
Philosophy The Microdelivery Triple-Acid Brightening Peel makes big promises, but for me it just didn’t deliver. I wanted to be wowed by the change in my skin, but I really didn’t notice a difference except for a slight increase in smoothness. I think this product is extremely gentle, and it would be best used by somebody who can’t use a more intensive peel because of how sensitive their skin is, as its most noticeable feature is how gentle it is. Unfortunately, I would rather have something less gentle and more effective so Philosophy The Microdelivery Triple-Acid Brightening Peel is a pass for me. I am very interested trying out in the Philosophy Resurface – The Microdelivery Dual-Phase Peel which seems to be much stronger, as I think that would be a better match for my skin.
