Something you may not know about me: I’m actually born on Halloween. So I absolutely love anything Halloween-themed, and I have plans for a few special Halloween posts a little closer to the holiday. In the meantime, there’s Peanuts by OPI, a small polish collection from the brand launching in September and inspired by the iconic cartoon. The collection includes four shades of polish and I have two of them to share today, a black cream OPI Who Are You Calling Bossy?!?* and a fantastic glitter, OPI To Be Or Not To Beagle*.
Let’s get the boring shade out of the way first. Considering the Peanuts by OPI collection only has four shades in it, I was disappointed that one of this is a pretty regular black, even if OPI Who Are You Calling Bossy?!? is inspired by Lucy’s hair. It is an incredibly glossy black and I kept catching my reflection in my nails in the photos, but it does take two coats for that perfect finish, which is one coat more than a perfect black would. Still, it’s a pretty black and perfect for Halloween if you need one. Dry time is also very good.
The other shade I have from the Peanuts by OPI collection is definitely the standout and my favourite of all four, so I was really happy I ended up with it. OPI To Be Or Not To Beagle is the perfect comic book glitter topper filled with black and coloured glitter as well as black bars. I actually don’t like bar glitter, but these little ones as part of a mix really work for me, and there’s something really fun about this polish. It’s also got fantastic coverage, I did one coat over The Body Shop Pink Cream*, which is a very sheer polish so it’s basically like doing it over naked nails. I also tried the polish over Who Are You Calling Bossy?!?, but all the cool black bits were hidden and I found it looked uneven with just the colours. In order to hold all that glitter awesomeness, OPI To Be Or Not To Beagle is a tiny bit thick so it takes a little bit to dry, but it’s not bad.
It’s pretty obvious from my post which polish I think is the must-have and that’s OPI To Be Or Not To Beagle, but let me know what you think of it!
