Were you a Hello Kitty fan growing up? I definitely was. I wasn’t full on obsessed but I really loved the adorable stationery, and I still have some left because it was too special to use. I was definitely excited when I saw the first sneak peaks of the adorable, colourful OPI Hello Kitty Collection* and I have swatches of all 12 new shades to share with you today.
OPI Hello Kitty 5 Apples Tall: This apple red really measures up.
This is a warm red creme polish which is really glossy and cheerful. I used 2 coats and there’s a tiny bit of VNL but it’s so bright you don’t really notice and formula itself is great.
OPI Hello Kitty Charmmy & Sugar: Sparkly pink for pretty pets.
This glittery polish has multi-coloured hexes in a lavender-pink iridescent base. It’s definitely a unique shade and it’s really pretty and reflective in the light. It is quite sheer even with 3 coats.
OPI Hello Kitty Kitty White: Pearl-of-a girl white.
This is a sheer, iridescent icy white shimmer. I find it too sheer on its own so I applied one coat over OPI Hello Kitty Never Have Too Mani Friends and it gives a gorgeous galaxy-esque look.
OPI Hello Kitty Let’s Be Friends: This cotton-candy pink is my new bestie.
This white-based, cool baby pink creme polish is a little bit gloopy but opaque in 2 coats, which is pretty good for a shade like this.
OPI Hello Kitty Look at my Bow!: This sweet-girl pink sits right at the top.
This is a really pretty cool, bubblegum pink creme. It’s got a great formula that gives good, even coverage with 2 coats, and even if it’s not the most exciting shade I really do like it a lot.
OPI Hello Kitty My Pal Joey: This true blue is always there for you.
I just can’t resist bright blue creme polishes like this one and this was one of the shades that immediately had my attention when I opened the box of polish. It has a great formula that’s almost a one coater, although I did go with two. The end result is pretty stunning! This kind of polish can definitely stain though so make sure to base coat up.
OPI Hello Kitty My Twin Mimmy: This sunny yellow is twice as nice
This bright yellow creme with a slightly thick formula. I went with 3 coats, thought you could possibly use 2 thick ones. It’s definitely a cheerful shade and I think the end result is really nice for a yellow.
OPI Hello Kitty Never Have Too Mani Friends: Let’s ‟ink” a date for our next manicure!
This is a classic black creme but it’s got a great formula that helps it stand out. It was opaque with 1-2 coats, some nails were just one thicker coat!
OPI Hello Kitty Small + Cute = <3: Do the math…this baby pink is perfect.
This baby pink creme starts off streaky but with 3 coats I could get a mostly even finish that looks great.
OPI Hello Kitty Spoken from the Heart: I have deep feelings for this pretty coral.
This bright coral-pink leans on the crelly side of creme, with a slightly sheer but very glossy finish. I used 2-3 coats. This shade is actually a dupe for a recent MAC polish I just reviewed.
OPI Hello Kitty Starry-Eyed for Dear Daniel: I just love this fun pink super-glitter.
This fucshia glitter immediately caught my attention in the bottle and did not disappoint on the nail. It’s nearly full full coverage with 2 coats, and you could add a third or a base although it might get thick by then. It’s really pretty and surprisingly smooth for a glitter.
OPI Hello Kitty Super Cute in Pink: I always say, ‟the pinker, the better.”
This cool-toned, purpley pink crelly has a nice formula that’s a little sheer with 2 coats but nice and glossy.
…And that’s all 12 polishes from the OPI Hello Kitty Collection. I am definitely overall really happy with this collection, the formulas are great overall and there are some gorgeous cheerful shades. My personal picks are My Pal Joey, Starry-Eyed for Dear Daniel and Spoken from the Heart. Do you think you’ll be picking up any of these polishes? What are your favourites?
