One Brand FOTD: Smashbox

One Brand FOTD SmashboxOver the past couple days I have shared two Smashbox products (the BB Cream and Lip Gloss) both of which I really loved and today I’m back to combine those products along with three others for a One Brand FOTD featuring Smashbox! Here it goes…

One Brand FOTD SmashboxOn my face I’m wearing a base (Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream*), a blush (Smashbox Halo Long Wear Blush in Warm Glow*), a lip gloss (Smashbox Be Legendary Lip Gloss in Azalea*), an eyeliner (Smashbox Santigolden Age Double Ended Limitless Liner in El Dorado and Azurite is Never Wrong*), and a mascara (Smashbox Photo Op Eye Brightening Mascara*) all from Smashbox! The only non-Smashbox product I’m wearing is some Benefit Gimme Brow*. Interested in how I achieved this look and what I think of the products I used? Keep reading…otherwise, I’m not sure why you clicked on this blog post!

One Brand FOTD Smashbox 3To start off my One Brand FOTD with Smashbox, I applied the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream all over my face using my fingers. I am a huge fan of this BB Cream, which provides light to medium coverage and looks incredibly natural. I wear it in the shade Light, and it does a good job lasting all day on me, as well as giving some skin protection because it contains SPF 35, which is higher than other tinted moisturizers and bb creams I own. You can check out a before/after to see what a difference this product makes in my full review here.

One Brand FOTD Smashbox 5After I was done with my base, I applied the Smashbox Halo Long Wear Blush in Warm Glow, which is a loose powder blush in a unique grinder packaging. I tried a coral shade, Peachy Dream, back in May and fell absolutely in love and instantly wanted all of the shades. With Warm Glow I am one step closer to my dream! There’s something about these blushes that applies so naturally and manages to last all day. Warm Glow is a more subtle, less orange shade than Peachy Dream although it still falls in the peach category, it’s just more of a muted peach. Given how bright my lips and eyes are in this makeup, it’s a great more-neutral choice that still gives some colour. I also think it’s a great shade to transition into fall with. Next up I’d love Blissful (berry) or Passion (warm rosy plum).

One Brand FOTD Smashbox 2I don’t wear a ton of eyeliner, and unfortunately my least favourite product featured in this post is the one is the Smashbox Santigolden Age Double Ended Limitless Liner in El Dorado and Azurite is Never Wrong. I think the dual-ended format is really handy, especially since it takes so long to go through a liner, and I loved the blue side which I added to my lower lash line for a pop of colour. Well, there are a few pops of colour in this look! However, the shimmery gold end was less successful for me as I found it a bit hard and sheer, I tried to use it all over my lid but I admit it wasn’t quite creamy enough to do that successfully and ended up looking a bit patchy. That said, both shades were long-lasting and there were some gorgeous bright shades in this limited edition Santigolden collection, which you may still be able to find online and in store.

One Brand FOTD Smashbox 6I finished off my eyes with Smashbox Photo Op Eye Brightening Mascara, which does an amazing job at separating and lengthening lashes. I ended up adding it to my bottom lash line too because it wasn’t at all clumpy, which seems to be an issue I have with mascaras lately. Applying to the top and bottom also helps with the wide-eyed result, and I really think the longer lashes help open up my eyes. The formula itself wasn’t too dry or too wet, so it was really easy to apply and helps give a curl to my lashes as well–a fact I really appreciate because I am way too lazy for an eyelash curler.

Smashbox CollageHowever, the really cool and unusual element is that Smashbox Photo Op Eye Brightening Mascara actually contains blue pigments that help make the whites of your eyes pop. I think if you look at the photo of my full face wearing this mascara, you can definitely notice an effect even though the mascara itself looks black.

1-IMG_0511The final element of my One Brand FOTD was a gorgeous, comfortable gloss from the brand which I reviewed yesterday, the Smashbox Be Legendary Lip Gloss in Azalea. I’m usually scared by bright shades but I really loved this one, which is super shiny and flattering on the lips and comfortable to wear.

One Brand FOTD Smashbox 4That’s it for my One Brand FOTD featuring Smashbox. This look is definitely more colorful than my usual ones, but it was fun to go outside my comfort zone and add a little more colour into my face. Summer isn’t over yet!

Have you tried any of these products from Smashbox?
