One Brand FOTD: Annabelle

Annabelle 3I was recently sent a batch of lip and eye products from Annabelle Cosmetics, a Canadian brand, and I decided to use them to do a One Brand FOTD. The products I was sent were the perfect items for a classic red lip and cat eye, but sadly I can’t do a cat eye flick so this look is a little less exciting than it could have been– although that red lip is so far outside my comfort zone.

AnnabelleTo start with, the lips. First I lined them using Annabelle Stay Sharp Self Sharpening Waterproof Lipliner in Glam Red*. I don’t use lip liner, mainly because I don’t usually wear bright lips, but it does help keep the colour lasting longer and keep it from migrating if you do. I found it a little drying and it tugged a little when I applied, but it has amazing packaging that self-sharpens as you twist on the lid, which I think is so cool and helps keep it at a sharp point for a crisp application.

On top of the liner I applied the Annabelle Twistup Retractable Lipstick Crayon in Flirtini*. I reviewed two other bright shades previously (Cherry* and Pump It Up*) and this one is also outside my comfort zone. However the formula is really creamy and comfortable to wear, although not transfer proof. It lasts for a few hours and has a bright glossy finish. If you’re looking for a bright red lip, I definitely think this is a good option!

Annabelle 4First, if you’re wondering what my classy matching polish shade is, it’s Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Queen of Hearts* (Reviewed here) but nails aside, I had a bit of a tougher time incorporating the remaining products because there were two eyeliners and two mascaras. First I used the Annabelle Stay Sharp Self Sharpening Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in Go Black* which has the same awesome packaging as the lip liner that lets you do a very thin line, which I found lasted incredibly well and was waterproof enough for my lower lash line (though I’m not wearing it there in this photo).

A new product from the brand is the Annabelle Instaglam Eyeliner + Mascara Touch-up in Abyss* which has a felt-tip eyeliner marker on one end and a blue mascara on the other. I used a touch of the eyeliner to get closer to my lash line (I’m really not very good at applying eyeliner), however I do find it has a bit of a thick tip and takes more than one layer to be really dark. It’s also not lower-lash line safe. I really liked the other end of the Instaglam though, which is a BLUE mascara. I used it on my lower lashes (and a coat on my upper lashes as well) and it has a small brush that is easy to apply to my lower lashes. It’s only noticeably blue up close but I feel like it makes my eyes look brighter even from a distance which is pretty cool. Annabelle 2The final product I tried out is the Annabelle Big Show Waterproof Mascara*, which I had previously tried the regular version of (check out my review here) and wasn’t super impressed. I will say I like the waterproof better, although it is still quite wet I don’t find that it clumps or transfers as much as the original but I’m still not blown away by it. I added one coat on top of the blue mascara. It’s a great choice for a more natural look, because it is really black without adding too much drama, for this FOTD, I let my lips do that!

Annabelle 2 5There’s my little Canadian feature with a One Brand FOTD featuring Annabelle! Although I don’t usually use lipliner or eyeliner, I adore the packaging on these ones (they are even colour-cordinated!) and lip crayons are an easy win for me. Finally, the blue mascara was pretty cool, there’s also a purple from the brand. What do you think of these products? Have you ever tried Annabelle Cosmetics before?
