November 2014 Empties

November 2014 Empties 6Another month, another empties. At least as long as I manage to keep my garbage in order! December might get combined with January given that I’m traveling for 3 weeks, but in the meantime here’s my big stash of November 2014 Empties.

November 2014 Empties 4I failed at doing updates on my Project 10 Pan (see the original post here) but I do have two products from it in my November 2014 Empties, and I have been working to finish the rest up. There’s the TRESemme Nourishing Rituals Liquid Gold Shine Therapy* and Marc Anthony Style Straight Potion both of which did the job but neither of which I’d rush out to repurchase. There’s also a bottle of Yes To Carrots Nourishing Shampoo which was not nourishing at all, and was so bad even my boyfriend refused to use it, so I ended up re-purposing most of the bottle as hand soap… No repurchase there.

I’m a bigger fan of Lush Blousey*, although this bottle was recalled and the one I’m currently using is much nicer and made it into my November Favourites. I also had a second container of the Almay Gentle Eye Makeup Remover Pads* which are not gentle and which I ended up using to remove swatches… Finally, there’s a container of actual hand soap, Dial Yogurt Vanilla Honey, which is a foaming creamy soap but actually I didn’t like the scent as much as I thought I would and I’d stick to other soaps in the future instead.

November 2014 Empties 3I’m still working my way through my Lush stash, and this month I have three empties, an incredibly old Lush Mum Tulip Reusabubble Bubble Bar, which, even though I’m a big fan of the brand I just don’t like this format very much and prefer the single use bars, even if I break them into pieces. I also used on a Lush Sparkler* which smelled great but was quite shimmery and messy to clean up. I have a second one, but I don’t see myself purchasing any more in the future. There was also a Lush Orange Jelly Bar Soap, which had a nice smell but wasn’t as moisturizing as I would like. I also tossed my EcoTools Pure Complexion Facial Sponge* cause it was getting pretty rough. It is nice, but I just as easily wash my face with my hands.

I’ve been trying to use up my traditional deodorants to move onto all natural ones–yeah, that’s not going well– but this month I finished up Secret pH Balanced Baby Powder, I like the scent and the fact that it actually works. There’s also a deliciously scented Fruits & Passion Pomelo Granite Quenching Butter for the Body, which I definitely thought was a handcream when I bought it but smells very yummy. I also finished up my second container of the Demeter Fragrance Sugar Cookie* which I love using as a room spray, it smells so good.

November 2014 Empties 2There’s also a few single use masks in my November 2014 Empties, including MaskerAide Beauty Restore*, Detox Diva* and Pre Party Prep*, although I obviously lost the packaging for one. They were all soothing, nice sheet masks. I really loved the Sally’s Box Friendly Cherry Blossom Hand Mask* which came in the Memebox Scentbox #4 Floral, and was less impressed by the Tonymoly Red Cheeks Girl’s Patch from the Memebox Superbox #61 My Cute Wishlist 3 (ugh, that whole box was so disappointing!). I also got a Biore Nose Strip as a free sample and I wish they would send me more cause these things are so addictive.

November 2014 EmptiesI’m always really proud to finish up a lip product and my November 2014 Empties contains TWO. First there’s a Kona Kare Lip Butter Balm in French Vanilla that I really like, but they melt really easily and I have way too much lip balm (and probably a few more of these hanging around anyway…) There’s also a really old Fruits & Passion Plumping Gloss I peeled the label off of and lost the cap to… so I finished it up at home and it is happily going in the garbage.

I don’t usually include toothpaste, but because I shared the Marvis Amarelli Licorice Toothpaste* in a review I figured I’d give you an update and let you know I finished it up. I like both the packaging and the product from Marvis, although I prefer mint to licorice, I really feel like it leaves my teeth very clean.

November 2014 Empties 5My final bit of November 2014 Empties is the tea! I focused on using up some my minis to justify this years Advent Calender (whoops…) The ones I finished up included Coffee Cake (both a packet and a tin) which I really love and would buy if they brought it back, Sleigh Ride (which was nice, but I’d prefer it without coconut), Glitter & Gold (surprisingly enjoyed this, though it is quite a sweet black tea), Vanilla Orchid (ummm, no, but I’m picky about oolong tea), and Organic Stormy Night (no longer available, and also, includes coconut, although it was alright). There’s also a sample of Steeped Tea Pink Lady from my friend Ambur that was nice, although hard to remember one cup of tea. I did finish up my bag of DAVIDsTEA Cotton Candy and it was quite yummy even though I don’t usually drink much rooibos, and if it comes back again I would pick it up in the future. Finally, there’s a colour-changing Glade Vanilla Candle in there… I love those things!

That’s 22 beauty products, plus 8 teas and a candle for a total kill count of 31. Not bad! My main focus at the moment is trying to go through some more skin and haircare as well as tea…I figure makeup is pretty much a lost cause at this point, although I do have a couple more lip products I’m working on. What’d you finish up this month?
