In addition to some gorgeous limited edition Fall products–I mean, check out those eyeshadows–Dior has revamped an iconic product from their range with a whole new selection of colours. The NEW Dior Fall 2016 Rouge Dior Lipsticks are available in satin and matte finishes that promise intense colour and comfort. I tested out 6 shades from the range, so let’s get started… The new Dior Fall 2016 Rouge Dior Lipsticks come in sleek navy packaging instead of the traditional black–check out what they looked like in Fall 2015 here. A really neat addition is the classic red inside of the lipstick cap, it’s in Rouge 999, Dior’s signature red shade. The bullet has a nice weight to it and the lipsticks still have a rose scent. The lipstick itself has a flat edge and the word “Dior” embossed on the side.
I received three satin and three matte shades from the new Dior Fall 2016 Rouge Dior Lipstick range. These shades includes pinks, reds and even a bright purple! Dior has definitely been more adventurous with the colour range, there’s also a pale grey as well as a navy. There are four cult colours, including 060 Premiere and 080 Red Smile, which I have. The formula is creamy and pigmented on the satin as well as matte shades. The mattes are a tiny bit less creamy, but they are definitely that “comfortable matte” finish so while they will transfer, my lips don’t feel like they are dying when I wear them.
The Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in Actrice 020 is a bright pink coral with a glossy finish.
The Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in Premiere 060 is described as a rosewood pink, but it’s definitely a bit more of a medium pink on me and brighter and less dusty than it looks in the bullet. It also has a glossy finish although not as shiny as Actrice.
The Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in Red Smile 080 is a bright orange red with a glossy finish. This is another one of the cult shades and was worn by Natalie Portman. It was inspired by the 080 Red shade created in 1959. The weather might be cooling down but this definitely says Summer to me!
The Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in Pretty Matte 576 is a bright peachy pink with a soft matte finish.
The Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in Superstitious Matte 789 is a bold pink-toned purple that can apply a little streaky at first but I was able to build it up.
The Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in Ambitious Matte 964 is a dark brick red with a soft matte finish. This is a perfect Fall and Winter shade, so vampy and chic. It pairs great with a nice dark bronze too (I’m wearing the Too Faced Dark Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in these photos).
I really loved the comfortable and pigmented formula of the original Dior Rouge Dior Lipsticks so it’s great to see they’ve maintained that with a new formula. Whether you’re looking for a creamy matte or a creamy…satin cream, there’s a great selection of colours available to pick from. Dior pick the cult four shades for a reason and my recommendations in particular are definitely Actrice and Red Smile.
Have you tried the Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick formula in the past? Will be picking up one of the new shades?
