Apparently these sporadic but brief hiatuses are turning into a thing on Writing Whimsy, I guess that happens when you try to balance life with posting a trillion times a week. Going forward I’ll mostly be sticking to the once-a-day schedule in an effort to have that blog/life/school balance and not burn out. For tonight, I have new Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Full Fan Effect Mascara to share with you.
I’ve heard amazing things about the original Lash Sensational, but although I haven’t tried it I was definitely excited when the latest variation, the Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Full Fan Effect Mascara, showed up in my mailbox. This mascara promises to fan out lashes while softening them with oils.
In terms of brush, the Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Full Fan Effect Mascara has a rubber one, which is my preference. The brush is tapered with very short, spaced out bristles. The mascara itself is very, very wet. I have been using it for a few weeks and honestly, it hasn’t dried out.
Applied to my lashes, the Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Full Fan Effect Mascara adds a big boost of volume and some length. The brush makes it easy to get the base of the lashes. However, I find it a bit clumpy. My preference is definitely for dry mascaras that offer definition and length, and this one is just too wet for me. It does flake throughout the day, although it’s not the worst out there for that.
Whether or not you fall in love with the Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Full Fan Effect Mascara has a lot to do with how you feel about wet mascaras. While I’m a fan of the brush and decently happy with the resulting lashes, I just find a drier formula works better for me. Definitely not a flop, but not a knock-out-the-park-baseball-cliché either.
