I recently(ish, I’m working on getting my blog up to date I swear) received a package of a few new Maybelline Spring 2016 goodies and I’m excited to share them all with you but I definitely had to start off with the next drugstore foundation you need to purchase. I have the Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation in Warm Porcelain 05 and it’s stunning.
The Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation is described as a hydrating foundation with a soft-matte finish. It comes in a squeeze-tube and has a thick, whipped consistency that feels lightweight blends easily into the skin, including any slightly dry areas.
There are 12 shades of the Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation available and I have the lightest, Warm Porcelain 05, which swatches darker than I would expect but is actually quite light on the skin, I might actually consider going one shade darker, especially during the summer. I know from Chelle’s review that the next two shades also swatch much darker than they apply–you can see her wearing Porcelain Ivory 10 here–so I definitely recommend checking out reviews (like mine!) rather than relying on a hand swatch for this product.
The true love I have with the Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation in Warm Porcelain 05 starts as soon as I apply it. It gives medium coverage with a flawless soft-matte finish, covering up any redness but you can still see my freckles slightly. You may need a concealer for any real trouble areas but I never use one when I’m wearing this foundation. It lasts all day on any drier areas of my face, but does wear off slightly on my nose so you’ll need to powder if you have oily skin, but then you probably do already.

I’ve been using the Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation in Warm Porcelain 05 for most of the past few weeks and I’m still just as in love as when I first used it. Although shade matching might be a bit difficult, the coverage and gorgeous natural finish make this foundation 100% worth picking up!
Do you have a favourite Maybelline foundation? I’ve loved a few from Maybelline in the past but I think this might have to replace the Maybelline Dream Wonder Foundation (reviewed here) as my favourite from the brand!
