Maybelline Color Show Gilded Rose

Right before I went on my “no buy” I tried to buy a particular polish from the Limited Edition Brocade collection– Maybelline Color Show Gilded Rose*. I couldn’t find it but ended up with two others from the collection, and lamented the fact that I would never get to experience this much-raved about polish. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one. Luckily Maybelline decided to bring it back as a permanent edition, and so I finally got the chance to have my very own Maybelline Color Show Gilded Rose. I applied it the same day it arrived in my mailbox.

Isn’t she gorgeous?

Maybelline Color Show Gilded Rose is a beautiful rose gold glitter with the same unique effect as the other polishes in the brocade collection, but the colour combination of this one is just so nice I can understand how come it was so popular. And always sold out. Not that I’m bitter or anything– definitely not now that I have one of my own.

In these photos I’m wearing three coats of Maybelline Color Show Gilded Rose, which could definitely be used as a top coat if you wanted to but it just looks so beautiful fully opaque I just had to share it that way instead. This is a glitter polish and so you do get some texture as a result, probably even with a layer of top coat although you can always pull a Chantal and do 5 if it bothers you.

The wear on glitter polish is never super long for me, but I did get this to last a few days before I had to replace it. I can definitely see myself reaching for Maybelline Color Show Gilded Rose again soon though! Just looking at these photos makes me want to take off my current polish and apply it instead… Maybelline better keep this polish forever, or I’m buying backups!

Did you miss out on Maybelline Color Show Gilded Rose like I did? Are you going to grab it now? Do you think my obsession is totally crazy? (<–Obviously not, this polish is gorgeous!)
