I don’t wear eye liner often, but lately the rainbow of colours available in the Maybelline Color Show Crayon Kohl Liners* caught my attention, and I was able to test out five different shades to see how they fared.
I received the Maybelline Color Show Crayon Kohl Liners in the shades Ultra Black, Sparkle Grey, Turquoise Flash, Vibrant Violet, and Barley Beige. I was actually most excited about the final shade because I had really wanted a nude liner for helping to brighten my waterline, and Barley Beige does that job PERFECTLY. All five shades are creamy and pigmented, and can also be smudged out or layered for increased opacity.
These swatches of the Maybelline Color Show Crayon Kohl Liners are a single swipe, so as you can tell the best results come from the black and the beige shades, although an amazing dark green and brown available. These are kohl liners so they aren’t incredibly long lasting, although when using Barley Beige on my waterline it was pretty subtle when it faded, there was more noticeable wear on my upper lash line by the end of the day when I used the shade Vibrant Violet. Sparkle Grey does add some Sparkly Grey as promised, but it was the least impressive in terms of opacity as all the shimmer seemed to get in the way of having more pigment. Ultra Black is a great classic black that’s incredibly dark and opaque, while Turquoise Flash is definitely something more unusual and fun.
Overall, I think there are definitely some promising contenders among the Maybelline Color Show Crayon Kohl Liners, although not every shade was a hit for me, I will definitely be getting a lot of use out of Barley Beige in particular. Have you tried these liners before? I feel like the Color Show line in particular from Maybelline really does deliver on offering vibrant colours at the drugstore.
