May 2015 Favourites

May 2015 FavouritesLately my monthly favourites posts have been getting delayed to the point that they don’t happen. I miss them though! Do you miss them? I feel like with all the products I review here, it is great to take a moment and let you know which ones I am really loving. This month there’s eight, which is a pretty good variety.

May 2015 Favourites 5In April there was a special limited edition Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado* to support puffins, and while it’s always nice to support a great cause, I highly recommend this eye cream year-round. I really only need a small amount, and it’s super creamy, scent-free and lovely to use on the eye area. It’s quite rich and moisturizing, so I think it’s a fantastic night-time cream for your eyes.

In terms of what I’ve been using during the day, I have been reaching for my Reversa Anti-Wrinkle Cream SPF 30* daily. I love how well this absorbs, and the fact that it’s got great-for-my-skin ingredients and a good level of SPF is a win. Plus it doesn’t mess up my makeup if I apply any on top. I actually have a second bottle but I am so glad because I will definitely be finishing this one up!

It’s weird to include a product in my May Favourites I haven’t actually used but…how could I? I received this amazing Demo Unicorn Soap from Julie when we finally got to meet up in Toronto, and she purchased it at the One of a Kind Show (see her summary of the event here). It is absolutely the best thing I have ever seen and it makes me so happy. Thanks Julie!

I have owned three different Katy Perry Killer Queen fragrances. There’s the original, Royal Revolution, and of course, Katy Perry Killer Queen Oh So Sheer*, which was the first one I tried and it is still my favourite. This was a limited edition release for spring last year (sorry!) but there is another scent available this season, although I don’t have it. I love everything about this one though, from the lavender colour to the perfect sweet scent which is a fruity and floral. I am keeping this one on my dresser as my next scent to use up, but I’ll be very sad when it’s gone!

May 2015 Favourites 3I really liked the original MUFE primers, so I was quite surprised by how much I loved the relaunch when I tried out the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Equalizer Redness Correcting Primer* again. It does an amazing job reducing redness and helping my makeup last, and I reach for it daily, which is probably why it is looking a little worse for wear (sorry!) after being in my travel makeup bag.

I had a bunch of excuses for why I didn’t use primer before, and the truth is I’m still not using it when I’m testing new eyeshadows, but I am totally hooked on it for every other day thanks to the Urban Decay Primer Potion*. There are several shades, but I have gotten the most use out of the transparent original shade. I didn’t have a Primer Potion before so I can’t say how the new formula compares, but it does an amazing job making my eye makeup look better and last longer. I guess it was a good month for primers!

I’ve been pretty good about not buying things this year, so I haven’t purchased any Rainbow Honey in awhile, but as I work to finish a few polishes I found myself reaching for my minis in particular because, well, they are easier. Rainbow Honey Tessie* is a perfect spring shade in one of my very favourite colours, periwinkle, with a pretty shimmer to it. Even though I’m focusing myself on a few shades of polish at a time, I am always excited to reach for this one again.

Finally, my very first Burberry lipstick and I am addicted. Burberry Kisses in Sepia* is a semi-sheer, very comfortable lipstick in an absolutely flawless shade rose shade that I find super-flattering and super-wearable. I think you can already see that it’s starting to take the shape of my lips because of how much I use it. I love the sleek, magnetic packaging, the formula, and the shade.

May 2015 Favourites 2And that’s it for my May 2015 Favourites! Clearly a lot of text, but hey, it’s always nice to gush about things you love. I will try to be back with another set in June, because it really is fun rounding up what I’ve loved, and it’s also fun to look back on later and remember how much my photos have improved, what products I should remember to reach for again, and how I’m still addicted to Benefit Gimme Brow!

Have you tried any of these products? What have you been loving lately?
