Today I have a review of two products that were a bit of an unexpected hit for me. When I first received the Mary Kay Sheer Dimensions Powder in Lace* and Pearls*, I kinda expected them to be all over the face powders and was really confused when they were orange and pink. However, as soon as I start playing with them I fell in love.
Mary Kay Sheer Dimensions Powder in Lace and Pearls come in large clear clamshells that show off the intricate design inside. I love that the “Lace” powder looks like lace, while the “Pearls” looks like pearls. However the doomed lid does make them a bit bulky.
The Mary Kay Sheer Dimensions Powder in Lace is an orange coral with a hint of gold shimmer in it. This is a gorgeous blush shade, it really provides a luminous finish which is probably the closest I’ve seen to my much-loved Hourglass Blushes. You can apply the product pretty sheer, but it’s definitely buildable, so I think this would work on most skintones.
The Mary Kay Sheer Dimensions Powder in Pearls is an opalescent shimmery pale pink that works as a lovely highlight. I was concerned this pink wouldn’t be flattering on my yellow-toned skin but after Steph’s rave review I gave it a shot, and she’s right, because of the sheer iridescence it still works. Both powders have a firm but silky texture.
I applied the Mary Kay Sheer Dimensions Powder in Lace as a blush and Pearls as a cheekbone and cupid’s bow highlight in the above photo. I’m even trying to learn my poses a little and titled my head to the side to emphasize the glow! I think you can tell how lovely they look. I found the powders lasted most of the day (about 6-7 hours) which is pretty good for my skin. If you are interested in the rest of my makeup, I’m wearing the ArtDeco Mythical Forest Fall 2015 Collection.
If you are looking to add some glow for the holidays, or just start the new year off looking radiant, I definitely recommend the Mary Kay Sheer Dimensions Powder in Lace and Pearls. This is a really great formula from Mary Kay, and I am hoping they come out with more shades in the future! What do you think?
