Ignoring the fact that I’ve been blogging about fall collections all month, it’s almost the end of August and it’s finally starting to seem like an appropriate time to share them. The Mary Kay Midnight Jewels Nail Lacquers* are a part of a new limited edition collection, and there are three shades available and I have swatches of ALL OF THEM to share with you. Sorry, I just get excited when I can share a complete collection, it really satisfies me for some reason.
The first shade is one I’m not quite sure belongs in the Mary Kay Midnight Jewels Nail Lacquers collection because it doesn’t really say midnight or jewels to me, and that’s Mary Kay Pearl Rose. It’s a very shimmery, faintly yellow shade that has a good formula despite being sheer, and I applied two coats. Although it’s definitely not a shade I would wear on its own, it does actually work quite well as a topper if you apply one coat on dark shades.
The second polish from the Mary Kay Midnight Jewels Nail Lacquers collection is opaque and flawless in one coat! Mary Kay Sapphire Noire is a blurple, which is a blue-y purple, and it has a pretty shimmer in it. And I mean, give me a One Coat Wonder and I’ll love any polish, but especially a purple one.
However, my favourite shade from the Mary Kay Midnight Jewels Nail Lacquers is the one I saved for last, and that’s Mary Kay Night Diamond, a polish that reminds me quite a bit of a fall favourite from last year, Essie Cashmere Bathrobe. However, this polish is a darker grey with a more obvious silver shimmer to it. I think this shade is so pretty and so perfect for fall, and it took two coats to get the perfect opacity.
Overall, the easy standout among the Mary Kay Midnight Jewels Nail Lacquers is Mary Kay Night Diamond which is an absolutely stunning polish! If you love blurple, Sapphire Noire is a good choice to given that it only takes one coat. Which of these shades is your favourite?
