Marc Jacobs Beauty is thinking in classic shades of white and black for Spring 2016 and I have a few of the newly launched products to share with you today. I have the Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Polish in White Snow*, the Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in Blacquer* and the Lamé Noir Ultra-Glittering Mascara*.
I’ve previously tried two makeup products from Marc Jacobs, an amazing brick red lipstick and one of my favourite nude lipsticks ever. One thing I know I can count on from the brand is chic, classic packaging and that’s definitely the case with these new products as well.
The Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Polish in White Snow is a sheer, milky cloud white polish. I used three coats but it’s definitely still an intentionally sheer shade, which makes it more wearable and less like having white out on your nails, although I still prefer an opaque finish.
The Marc Jacobs Beauty Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in Blacquer is a black eyeliner with a gel pencil formula and a very precise tip. Just a warning, it does not twist back down. It has a very smooth, opaque consistency that just glides right on when swatched but I did find it skipped a bit when applying to my (less “tight”) eye lid. It did not work on the waterline for me but worked pretty well on the lid or lower lash line however it did smudge a little. I’ve heard much better reviews of the classic Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner from Marc Jacobs and the colourful range of shades available in that product definitely has me interested in it instead.
Definitely the most unique product in this trio of Spring launches is the Marc Jacobs Lamé Noir Ultra-Glittering Mascara. It’s a mascara with a very narrow plastic wand with the tiniest bristles that coats your lashes in black and gold micro-glitter. It’s an unexpected way to add a bit of glam, although it’s in a clear gel so I would definitely wear this as a topper on another mascara for maximum impact (the new Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara looks gorgeous!)
In the above photo I’m wearing the Marc Jacobs Beauty Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in Blacquer on my lower lash line and the Marc Jacobs Lamé Noir Ultra-Glittering Mascara on my left (your left!) eye only. It’s really hard to capture the glitter but you can tell it’s a bit sparkly although even in person, not as dramatic as I hoped for. I did find that it flakes a bit over time and the removal was also not fun, so for me this would be a special-event only type product.
And of course, my full face shot so you can see how everything looks together! I’m also wearing the gorgeous Pur Cosmetics Eye Polish in Silk on my eyes.
If you are looking for some chic new shades for Spring or a way to glam up for an evening out then definitely check out these new Marc Jacobs Beauty launches.
Would you wear a glittery mascara? What do you think?
