Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Moody Margot

Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Moody Margot 2Can I just share how long I have lusted over Marc Jacobs makeup? Unfortunately, I’m a student, and it just wasn’t in the budget which is why I was especially thrilled to test out the Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Moody Margot*.

1-Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Moody Margot CollageMarc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Moody Margot is part of a new collection of lipsticks from the brand with a gel formula that easily glides onto the lips. The packaging is sleek with a nice weight to it and a magnetic closure, while the lipstick has a light vanilla smell to it. There’s also a unique rounded bullet, which I find a little adorable.

Unfortunately, it really does emphasize any fine lines or dry patches as you can tell in my close up, so make sure to exfoliate first, especially during these winter months. However, from a distance that most people would actually be looking at your lips, it is not noticeable.

Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Moody Margot 3I am not usually a fan of nude-nude lip colours, but I actually really loved the way the Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Moody Margot looked with a darker eye look like in the above photo. The fact that the shade is a little sheer makes it a way to tone down your lip colour, without going for a full-on concealer lip. The creamy gel formula means that the lasting power is not great, a couple hours at most, but it is easy to reapply without a mirror.

Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Moody MargotFor all my anticipation about trying Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Moody Margot, it’s a product I enjoy, but the exfoliation requirement means it won’t become a daily staple. However I do love the way it looks with a smoky eye, and it was fun getting outside my dusty rose comfort zone.

Of course, speaking of dusty rose, I’m really interested in some of the less nude nude shades, like Eat Cake and Role Play, which both look gorgeous. Have you ever tried a Marc Jacobs lipstick? I have a second, much more vibrant, shade coming up soon.
