Recently I realized that even though I have shared two Marc Jacobs Daisy varieties on the blog–first Daisy Marc Jacobs Delight Edition and more recently Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream–I hadn’t actually tried the original fragrance! I absolutely adored both of those scents and they have been some of my most used for spring and summer, so I was really excited to finally try out Marc Jacobs Daisy* and share it with you.
Marc Jacobs Daisy is an amazing spring and summer scent and if I have any left in my bottle, you can definitely expect to see it in my fragrance guide next year. It’s a sweet and fresh scent, with top notes of strawberry, grapefruit and violet leaf and it has a lovely floral heart that includes gardenia and jasmine, based on a soft and powdery base of white woods, vanilla and musk. In comparison to the other Daisy varieties I’ve tried, I find the original to less sweet and a little more powdery.
Marc Jacobs Daisy is the kind of scent I’d wear on a day when I just want to smell good, without making it super obvious I am wearing perfume. That’s not to say it fades away, as I can just that there’s something about it that’s natural and warming, like a sunny day. I can still smell glimpses of Marc Jacobs Daisy after 6 hours, but it has definitely faded. This isn’t an overpowering fragrance and so you won’t smell this perfume from across the room, but to be honest, that’s not something I ever want!
Similar to all the Marc Jacobs fragrances I’ve tried so far, Daisy has adorable packaging and I really love how cute it looks beside Daisy Delight. Also if my bottle looks a little bit emptier than it should it’s because I couldn’t help using this fragrance for about a week even before I had time to photograph, I was just so excited to get my hands on it. It didn’t disappoint! Have you tried any Marc Jacobs scents before? Are they all as lovely as Daisy is?
