Honestly, I don’t know why I would ever buy foundation from any brand besides MAKE UP FOR EVER. First, they blew me away with their perfect-for-any-important-event-high-coverage UltraHD Foundations (reviewed here) and now the new MAKE UP FOR EVER Water Blend Foundation has quickly become my go-to foundation for daily wear.

It comes in a glass pump bottle and has a thin, liquidy consistency that means shaking it before use. The formula is 80% pro-vitamin, B5 infused water and also includes glycerine and mango butter.

Out of the 20 shades in the MAKE UP FOR EVER Water Blend Foundation range, I have to the two lightest warm-toned, or Y, shades which are Y215 and Y225. While Y215 is very light and fairly neutral, Y225 is definitely warmer and a bit darker. For my skin which still has a bit of colour from summer, Y225 is definitely the better match right now, but the light coverage does make the shades flexible. You can tell from the swatches how thin the consistency is, and it blends easily into my skin with my fingers.

The final appearance of the MAKE UP FOR EVER Water Blend Foundation is one I’m absolutely in love with. I’m wearing the shade Y225 and it offers lightweight and longwearing coverage, so that it really just looks natural. It can be built up a bit and does help minimize redness, but it’s nice to wear a foundation that doesn’t look like you are wearing a foundation. That said, despite being water-based I think if you have really dry skin this foundation may not be ideal, or at least, moisture first, so I’ll be curious to see how it wears further into the winter time. It definitely lasts all day and even looks good when I sweat a bit, thanks to the waterproof formula. make-up-for-ever-water-blend-foundation-swatchesHonestly, I’m absolutely obsessed with the MAKE UP FOR EVER Water Blend Foundation and I have been reaching for this regularly ever since it arrived in my mailbox. I have already made a bit of a dent in my bottle, because it’s so easy to wear I feel comfortable using it every day (when I don’t sleep in too late to apply makeup). I own a lot of foundation but when I make it through these two bottles–yup, I’m not sharing–this is definitely something I would repurchase. It’s just that lovely!

Have you tried the new MAKE UP FOR EVER Water Blend Foundation? Let me know if you’re as obsessed as I am!
