If there’s one makeup product I’m most happy I discovered, it’s definitely concealer. I don’t use it every day, but I am so grateful to know that it’s there when I have a special event and a big blemish, or just want to look a little more awake before a morning meeting. After fall in love with the relaunched Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundations, I was pretty excited to learn they’d released a matching concealer to go with it. I received the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer in Y21*.
The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer is available in 10 shades, which includes 5 for concealing and 5 for colour-correcting with a Light, Light to Medium, Medium, Medium to Tan and Tan option for each option. While the correcting shades help neutralize dark circles and blue tones, the concealing shades help even out skin tone and bright up under the eye. I have the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer in Y21, which is the lightest concealing shade.
The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer comes in a skinny tube that hides the fact that it actually contains 7 mL of highly pigmented product–a ton for a concealer. There’s a rounded applicator and you need to just gently squeeze the tube to apply. VERY little product is needed, so I can see this lasting me forever. The shade Y21 is extremely light with slightly yellow undertones, it actually matches the inside of my arm quite well!
I applied the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer in Y21 under my eyes to help brighten up the area. I don’t really struggle with dark circles–maybe you can tell me otherwise!–although I am a bit sleep-deprived as a grad student. Ideally, you would use the peachy colour-correcting shade to neutralize the area first, but I found even just the concealer made a huge distance. This concealer is really light, so I can’t really use it on my blemishes but it is perfect for under the eye and incredibly brightening.
In terms of wear, the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer in Y21 lasted all day but did settle slightly into fine lines so I recommend setting with powder. You can see it in action in my Lise Watier Spring 2016 Variations De Nudes Collection review here.
If you are looking for an incredibly pigmented concealer I highly recommend checking out the new Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer range. I’m really curious about how the colour-correcting and concealing options pair together but I definitely am impressed by the brightening effect of Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer in Y21 all on its own.
What do you think of the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer? What is your favourite under eye concealer?
