Make Up For Ever has just launched their Lash Show collection of 50 handmade, false lashes with 27 natural and 23 Creative Impact lash options. Basically, there’s a stunning design for everything from daily wear to dramatic impact. I haven’t reviewed false lashes since April 2014 (yikes!) but I could not resist the opportunity to share a pair of these stunning lashes with you. I was most interested in the more natural lash options, and had the chance to try out the Make Up For Ever Lash Show Collection in N-204*. Like all the lashes in the collection, these are made with 100% synthetic fibres.
The natural volume lashes begin with N-202, so Make Up For Ever Lash Show Collection in N-204 is the third most subtle in the line up. The lashes come with a little container of lash glue with a pointed applicator, which I find really convenient. It seems like the sort of thing all lashes should come with–just in case you need it–but unfortunately that’s not the case. I applied the lashes using the glue included. In the photo below, I’ve only applied to the false lashes to the left eye, and I have not used mascara on either eye.
I am definitely a novice at applying lashes, but I found the band of the the Make Up For Ever Lash Show Collection in N-204 quite flexible, and it was fairly easy to apply. As you can tell, the lashes do have a clear band, so MUFE recommends applying liner along the edge of the lashes to conceal the band. I haven’t done this, but I definitely think it’s a good idea.
Of course, I had to apply the Make Up For Ever Lash Show Collection in N-204 to my other eye as well, and I really love the final look. I know somebody will ask–the eyeshadow is the Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix Eyeshadow Palette (review coming soon!) The false lashes add fullness and length to my natural lashes, without feeling heavy or uncomfortable. I could hardly tell I was wearing false lashes, which says a lot considering the last time I wore them was over a year and a half ago!
For other glasses wearers–the N-204 style was short enough I could wear them with my glasses, which is fantastic if you are looking to add some drama to your lashes for the holidays while still being able to drive to the party. The lashes stayed on well and were also very easy to remove, although I was delicate with them since I want them to last.
I’m really glad I gave false lashes another try and tested out the Make Up For Ever Lash Show Collection in N-204. I think these lashes are the perfect balance of really emphasizing your eyes, without making it obvious you are wearing falsies, and I love the result. Of course, I also love how lightweight these lashes are, and I’m hoping that they will last me through many more wears! Don’t be surprise if they show up in future makeup looks on Writing Whimsy as well. It will be hard to go back to natural lashes now…
Do you ever wear false lashes? Let me know what you think of these ones!
