Easily one of my favourite eyeshadow formulas is the Artist Shadow from MAKE UP FOR EVER, so when they first started releasing limited edition palettes, they immediately made it onto my wishlist. However after splurging on a bunch of shades at IMATS (check out that haul here) I managed to restrain myself from purchasing, which made me extra thrilled when the latest MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Palette Volume 3 Florals* showed up in my mailbox.
I’ve given the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Shadows rave reviews both when they were first reformulated (here) as well as when I tried out the MAKE UP FOR EVER Give In To Me Makeup Kit, so I was really hoping that the shadows in the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Palette Volume 3 Florals lived up to my experience. The palette itself contains 9 shadows, all shimmery, in a colourful range of Spring-inspired shades.
The MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Palette Volume 3 Florals comes in a sturdy cardboard compact with a graphic design on the front and a large mirror on the lid. There’s no wasted space, and this compact palette is perfect for travel. It’s got 9 shades for just over the price of 2 shadows, and they are 1.5 grams each, which is equivalent to full-sized shadows from plenty of brands. So basically it’s an amazing value and great way to add a bunch of gorgeous shades to your collection.
MAKE UP FOR EVER I544 Pink Granite is a metallic rosy taupe with a smooth, creamy consistency and gorgeous pigmentation.
MAKE UP FOR EVER ME930 Black Purple is a blackened purple with a metallic sheen to it and an intensely pigmented, creamy formula.
MAKE UP FOR EVER I804 Golden Pink is a shimmery pink coral with a golden sheen. It is highly pigmented and blendable.
MAKE UP FOR EVER I918 Lavender is a pale, cool-toned shimmery lavender with a creamy, pigmented formula. I was super impressed by how gorgeous this pastel was!
MAKE UP FOR EVER S404 Straw Yellow is a baby yellow with a satin finish. While this shade wasn’t fully opaque it still had a pretty nice formula, although the weakest of the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Palette Volume 3 Florals, which is really an amazing palette.
MAKE UP FOR EVER ME512 Golden Beige is a pale, golden metallic beige with one of those creamy, buttery, gorgeous formulas I love so much.
MAKE UP FOR EVER I528 Pearl is pearl white with a pink iridescence to it and a nearly opaque, creamy, blendable formula.
For the above look I used MAKE UP FOR EVER ME512 on the inner corner, I544 all over the lid, and both D236 and ME230 in the crease. I regret not making better use of the colourful pastels but I’ll definitely be back for them. As expected, the pigmentation of the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Palette Volume 3 Florals was gorgeous without primer, and fairly long-lasting as well, although I still recommend a primer to prevent creasing.
If you are looking for a gorgeous Spring palette with amazing shadows and a great value, I highly recommend you pick up the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Palette Volume 3 Florals while it’s still in stock. I know this is a palette I’ll be reaching for a lot not only in Spring but year-round, and it’s also a fun mix of neutrals and colour to take traveling with me. I’m just as in love with MUFE’s shadows as I’ve always been, so I really hope they continue to release new palettes like this in the future to make it easy to try out some of their extensive 200+ shades.
