It’s Sunday! I want to do a lot of blogging today but my computer is slowly dying and so that’s been difficult lately. However, a lot of blogging starts with some blogging which starts with this post. One of the biggest blogging perks for me is when products from a new MAC collection land in my mailbox, and I was lucky enough to receive a few recently from the MAC It’s A Strike Collection including the Eyeshadow in Blow Out, Casual Colour in Blind Score, and Lipsticks in Babes and Balls and Liquid Lurex.
The MAC It’s a Strike is a fun bowling-inspired collection with a gorgeous face powder as well as ls of burgundy and lime green inspiration. Although the packaging is classic MAC, the collection itself is loaded with a mix of classic permanent shades and new, limited-edition products you won’t want to miss.
The MAC It’s a Strike Eyeshadow in Bowl Out is a mid-tone matte grey with a creamy, pigmented formula that’s not at all powdery. This is the perfect crease transition shade, which is how I’m wearing it in the photos in this post, but unfortunately that was basically impossible to capture well on camera. Trust me though, it’s lovely, and this is one limited edition product that could easily become a staple in your routine.
A new formula to me is the MAC It’s a Strike Casual Colour in Blind Score. I love cream blushes, and the Casual Colours are designed to be used on lips or cheeks, although I stuck to using it on my cheeks. Blind Score is a gorgeous reddish burgundy that is easy to blend out on the cheeks and gives a slightly dewy finish. It might look a bit scary in the pan, but it can easily work on fair skin and I love that “just in from the cold” look it gives to the cheeks. I’m also wearing it on my cheeks in this post, and ‘ll be reaching for this a lot this winter.
There are 7 fun lipsticks in the MAC It’s a Strike Collection and I tried out two of them. I’m such a MAC Lipstick addict, there’s just something I can’t resist about them but the shades I tried are both in formulas I don’t have a lot of experience with. However I loved them both!
The MAC It’s a Strike Lipstick in Babes and Balls is a flawless matte burgundy lipstick. This is one of those creamy mattes with a tiny bit of sheen to it that’s still comfortable to wear all day and doesn’t leave my lips feeling like they are dying. The pigmentation is even, opaque, and such a gorgeous shade for fall and winter. It’s also super longwearing and leaves behind a stain. This shade may make me fall in love with dark lipsticks!
The MAC It’s a Strike Lipstick in Liquid Lurex is a tarnished gold dazzle lipstick which is a finish I have never tried from MAC before but basically means GLITTER. This lipstick can work as a glitter top coat to other shades, or just wear it on its own for loads of sparkle. Despite the glitter, it was actually comfortable to wear and not super gritty like I expected. The green/gold/pink reflection in the lipstick is really pretty.
In addition to the MAC It’s a Strike products I shared here, there are glosses, polishes, fluidlines, brushes, and of course that amazing Pearlmatte bowling-inspired Face Powder. (check it out here). In terms of my recommendations, I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the products I tried, I love them all! Is anything in the MAC It’s a Strike Collection on your shopping list?
