Earlier this week I shared MAC Craving, so it’s only fair that I dedicate a post to the lipstick I consider its illegitimate sister. I picked up the MAC Fast Play Lipstick at the same time as Craving, and in fact, it’s the lipstick I went into the store to purchase, but I almost didn’t walk away with it. I wanted to compare it to the very popular MAC Twig, and the sales associate told me that absolutely everyone looked better in Twig, until I tried both shades on and she had to change her mind.
MAC Fast Play is another Amplified finish lipstick, which means it is opaque, creamy and shiny. I now have three MAC lipsticks in this line and I think I’m hooked. If you’re curious, in addition to Craving, I also own the shade Cosmo, which I purchased with Natalie, and while it got a moment in the sun on Chelle’s blog it hasn’t been properly reviewed yet. Fast Play and Cosmo are fairly similar, but on me Cosmo is more pink and Fast Play is more brown. Let’s just keep pretending I needed both. MAC Fast Play belong to my favourite family of MLBB shades. It’s a brown-tone pink that’s so gorgeous I got a compliment the first time I wore it. It has a really creamy, comfortable consistency that lasts about four hours on my lips, although it’s not transfer-proof. However, it is super easy to reapply since it’s such a natural shade.
When I looked into reviews of MAC Fast Play, I found it was really popular as a nude lipstick for darker skintones, but on me, I feel like it gives something just a little extra special even if I’ve skipped applying makeup to the rest of my face (this happens surprisingly often). What are some other things I love about MAC Fast Play? Well, look at it, I honestly think this lipstick looks really nice on me. It’s also opaque in a single swipe, doesn’t emphasize any dryness, and the shine actually makes my thin lips look a little more full. I love you I love you I love you.
I know that some people consider MAC lipsticks to be over-rated, but the truth is, the more I own, the more I fall in love with them. My latest love is absolutely MAC Fast Play, but of course I’m already looking at swatches and trying to decide which one I need next. Suggestions?
