YAY. It’s a new Lush holiday collection! Honestly, I look forward to holidays because 50% holiday 50% new Lush. With Valentine’s Day, which I actually don’t celebrate, the split is probably more 90-10. I actually missed out on the Lush collection last year but I loved it in 2014 so I was excited to see a few great returning products. There are 6 products in the Lush Valentine’s Day 2016 Collection* and I have 5 of them to share with you.
If there was ever a perfect product for me, it’s the Lush Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar. I mean…UNICORN HORN BUBBLE BAR. I definitely need to purchase some backups! This product has gotten a slight update from last year and while there are no more stars on it, it’s a swirled mix of pastel colours with a silvery shimmer in it. It turns the water a very faint pink and adds loads of bubbles.
You can sorta see the Lush Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar in action in my Instagram shot but I was honestly so excited to get in the bath I forgot to take full on photo of the water! Scent-wise it has a relaxing scent of lavender, ylang ylang and neroli. The water actually shimmers too, which is really pretty, and it doesn’t stick to my body although I do have to clean out the tub afterwards.
The Lush Prince Charming Shower Cream has a bright pink colour with a gorgeous shimmer to it. I absolutely adored the Lush Prince Charming scent when I first tried it two years ago, and while it was a shower gel then it’s now been brought back as a Shower Cream, which has a runnier consistency and is more moisturizing on the skin.
The scent of the Lush Prince Charming Shower Cream is a sweet but tart pomegranate which is softened slightly by the vanilla and cocoa butter. This is honestly one of my favourite scents from Lush (up there with Rose Jam) and I wish it wasn’t limited edition. Hopefully it will be brought back again next year and I’ll have used up enough of my shower gel stash to justify a 500 mL bottle…
If you are more into bar soaps than liquid, you’ll definitely want to check out this brand new product in the Lush Valentine’s Day 2016 Collection. The Lush Roses All The Way Soap is a light ombre pink soap in a heart-shaped rose bar. It’s loaded with fresh rose infusion and rose oil, but the scent is not over-powering, it’s more of a soft rose I wish lasted more on the skin.
Lush generally has two kinds of soaps, a “clear” and a “creamy” kind, and the Lush Roses All The Way Soap is definitely the creamy kind. It lathers well and is very moisturizing on the skin. I actually much prefer it to the previous Valentine Lush Neon Love Soap and I think it’s unique shape make a gorgeous gift.
Although the Lush The Kiss Lip Gloss isn’t a new product, it’s definitely gotten a makeover. Previously, this gloss was sold in a pot format (similar to the Lush Santa Baby Lip Tint I reviewed here). I love that Lush has updated it into a stick because it’s more hygienic, which is especially important with products with more natural ingredients, and also easier to reapply.
The Lush The Kiss Lip Gloss is sheer pink with shimmer that feels incredibly moisturizing on the lips thanks to ingredients like shea and cupuacu butters. There’s absolutely no texture from the shimmer, it just gives a nice sheen to the lips. It also contains mandarin and almond oils that give it a delicious, juicy scent. Bonus feature? This tube is a part of the bring back 5, get a free face mask program from Lush I love so much.
The final product I tried out from the Lush Valentine’s Day 2016 Collection was the Lush The Kiss Lip Scrub. I’ve tried the Santa’s Lip Scrub from Lush before and loved it but I’ve since had to toss it so I was excited to have a new one, since using a scrub really makes a difference especially during dry winter weather.
The Lush The Kiss Lip Scrub is a bright pink sugar scrub with adorable little hearts decorating the top. It has a drier consistency but it’s still quite effective as exfoliating. The most exciting thing about Lush scrubs in comparison to one you might make at home is definitely the scent. This one is a delicious mix of mandarin and almond oils, so it has the same great scent as the matching gloss. I’m definitely going to enjoy using it!
In addition to these great products the Lush Valentine’s Day 2016 Collection includes a bunch of amazing gift sets as well as the permanent product, the Lush Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb which is filled with rose blossoms. The only thing it’s missing? Honestly, a massage bar, but if you’re looking for one I highly recommend the Tender is the Night, which was first released as part of the Valentine’s Day Collection in 2014 and has an amazing vanilla and jasmine scent.
What do you think of the Lush Valentine’s Day 2016 Collection? More importantly, how many Unicorn Horn Bubble Bars will you be purchasing?
