Lush Shoot for the Stars* is a bath bomb from the Lush Christmas collection and easily one of the items I was most excited for. Spoiler alert: I loved it.
I guess it technically doesn’t matter what a bath bomb looks like, as long as it does the job in the tub, but I’ve got to admit that I think Lush Shoot for the Stars is gorgeous. It’s exactly what the name would imply, mystical and covered in shooting stars. In the bath, each of the colours swirls together into a gorgeous shade of violet. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
A couple of you gave me awesome advice on my last bath bomb post explaining how to cut them into two, so I grabbed a large ziploc and broken this one down the seam with a butterknife. It was surprisingly easy, and because the Lush Shoot for the Stars bath bomb is so huge at 200 g, it’s a great way to really get your money’s worth (this one costs $6.95 CAN).
When I broke it open, Lush Shoot for the Stars had a lovely pink surprise inside!
Once I added the bath bomb to my water, the pink and blue combined to great a gorgeous violet shade along with some bubbles. I was pretty excited as purple is one of my favourite colours and certainly a lovely one for a bath.
But I’ve almost forgotten to tell you about the most important part of Lush Shoot for the Stars–– the scent! I’ve probably written a billion times about how much I love sweet and vanilla and honey scents, and I can’t get over how good this smells. It’s the same scent as the Lush soap, Honey I Washed the Kids and my much-loved Lush showergel, It’s Raining Men. Basically, it smells delicious.
The scent of Lush Shoot for the Stars is honey and caramel and the scent lasts the entire time you are in the bath, filling the room with deliciousness. I layered mine by using my matching showergel to help the scent linger. I just need Lush to come out with a body lotion in the same scent so I can smell like this forever! Yum.
And in case you can’t really see it in my other photos, check out what I discovered floating in my bathwater! Tiny stars and silver shimmer (neither was visible when I drained the tub so it didn’t cause a mess). I managed to get a photo with the flash on, I swear I’m going to need a waterproof camera if I keep up with reviewing these bath products, I’m always afraid I’m going to drop it in!
The flash also gives a better indication of the water colour, I just hate the effect it has on photos but apparently my bathroom lighting is too yellow and I may have to stick to the flash in the future. But aren’t those stars pretty?
Overall, I am pretty much in love with the Lush Shoot for the Stars bath bomb. It smells amazing, it looks amazing, and it makes me never want to get out of the bath (sadly, eventually I had to.) If you only try one product from Lush this holiday season, I’m going to make this my recommendation, which is pretty strong words considering it’s the first bath product from their Christmas collection I’ve tried. But it’s just that good.
Do you have a favourite scent? Let me know what it is!
